The College of Fisheries admission process provides integrated education and research in fisheries science with an emphasis on the development of competent professionals for the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

College of Fisheries offers a B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) programme. The B.F.Sc course at the College of Fisheries, Agartala has an approved strength of 9 students. Admission to the course is on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the CUET-UG examination. The candidates should be from the merit list prepared on the basis of the Common Entrance Test held by the concerned states.

For all the M.F.Sc courses, the admission is through the college entrance examination (60% weightage) and the candidate's performance in the qualifying degree examination (40% weightage). At least 20% marks in the entrance examination are necessary for shortlisting.

The admission process for Ph.D programmes is the same as M.F.Sc. programmes. Selection of candidates is based on their performance in the entrance examination (60% weightage) and their performance in the qualifying degree examination (40% weightage). The 20% minimum marks criterion in the entrance exam is also applicable for Ph.D admissions.
