The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University, Lembucherra has established highly competitive and merit-based admission for its fisheries science programs. The College is recognized by the Indian council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), which is providing education in fisheries as an undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral education courses. The whole admission selection process exactly weighs to find the best aptitude through multiple entrance examinations and the academic records performance. Undergraduate admission is mostly based on entrance examinations, and CUET-UG is the major one. The CUET UG entrance examination is expected to be held between May 15 and May 24, 2025. In addition, to the approved seats for the undergraduate programs (excluding B.V.Sc & A.H), 15% is allocated through the All-India Entrance Test (AIET) which is conducted by ICAR.
Graduate admissions are carried out based on a combination of entrance examination performance and academic record. The selection process of master's programs provides for scoring up to 60% on the entrance examination and up to 40% on the qualifying degree examination performance. Also, irrespective of category, candidates must secure a minimum of 20% marks in the entrance examination to be considered for shortlisting. Selection for Ph.D. programs would be the same as 60% for the entrance exam and 40% for the qualifying degree academic performance. Admissions time is quite strict, and it usually co-mingles with the academic year that already starts in August-September.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fish and Seafood Technology): The B.F.Sc course at College of Fisheries, CAU, is a four-year undergraduate program that has been granted an approved intake of 9 seats. Admission is done on the basis of a state Common Entrance Test while 15 percent of the seats are filled through ICAR's All India Entrance Test. Admission to this program will also be on the basis of CUET UG scores.
M.F.Sc (Master of Fisheries Science): The college offers seven M.F.Sc specializations of 5 approved seats each:
Admissions to any M.F.Sc programs are based on an entrance examination (60% weightage) along with the qualifying degree's academic performance (40% weightage). Candidates will need to obtain a minimum score of 20 percent in the entrance examination to be eligible for shortlisting.
