Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Siwan, was founded in the year 1972. It is one of the pioneering institutions in the state of Bihar, India. This affiliated college offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Ayurveda. The faculty strength of this college is 35, and it occupies a campus of 6 acres. Traditional Ayurvedic practices are offered at this institute under three courses at two degree levels. It is a co-educational institution and admits students from all sections of society to provide an integrative pattern of learning. The institution's commitment to the cause of Ayurveda education is displayed in its specially designed courses and facilities.

The college has many facilities that help students in their overall academic and personal development. It has boys' and girls' hostels, which are provided with hygienic kitchen facilities and security guards round the clock with CCTVs installed. Its central library has over 10,000 books concerning to Ayurveda and modern literature and journals. The library is furnished with a digital library and provided with study rooms. Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital runs a total of three full-time courses. The institute's prime course is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery with an intake of 60 students. At the postgraduate level, it offers two specialty programs: MD Kayachikitsa and MD Dravyaguna Vigyana, with both of these programs having an intake capacity of four seats each. Courses tend to provide detailed theoretical knowledge with practical skills on different aspects of Ayurvedic medicine. 

Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital is based on merit, and admissions are done on a structured basis. Application Process

Degree wise Admission Process

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): This is the flagship course of Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital with an intake of 60 students. The admission process is completely based on the merit of the NEET score. Eligible candidates who have successfully cleared NEET are invited to apply. The complete program offers exposure and training covering both theory and practice of Ayurvedic medicine.

MD Kayachikitsa: 4 seats are available for this postgraduate course. The admissions take place based on the merit list of the AIAPGET examination. Candidates must hold a BAMS degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by the CCIM (Central Council of Indian Medicine) to be eligible to apply. The course offers higher studies in Ayurvedic internal medicine.

MD Dravyaguna Vigyana: The same number of seats is available for admission into this postgraduate course as with MD Kayachikitsa. The admissions procedure is based on AIAPGET scores. To be eligible for this program, candidates must have obtained their BAMS degree from an approved institution. This program studies Ayurvedic pharmacology and medicinal plants.
