DKM College for women in Vellore was established in 1972 in Sainathapuram, RV Nagar of Vellore – Tamil Nadu; It is an autonomous college. This UNIT attracts 3,935 tumet students with 61 courses in 10 degree programmes on a 9.23-acre campus. It has 122 members in the faculty and it is accredited with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college total student enrolment is 3935, among them 3123 are in undergraduate programs and 396 are in postgraduate programs. Most important of all, the college currently enrols only female students, which is a mandate for women’s college.
To support student learning, the college has put in place a range of services that avail learning comforts. A well equipped library with a collection of more than thirty three thousand one hundred and ten books and twenty eight different journals, The college also has access to UGC- INFLIBNET N-LIST programme. It has well equipped campus where modern day laboratory that include multimedia English Language Labs are used for practical learning.

B.Sc: Admission into the B.Sc. program in Mathematics, Zoology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Computer Sciences are counted on the basis of marks in the 10+2 and with much focus on the science subjects.
BA: BA programs are in History, English, and Tamil, and admissions are based on 10+2 marks, preferring applicants with relevant subjects in their higher secondary education.
BCA and BBA: These professional courses also consider 10+2 marks for admission and BCA requires a strong math and computer science background.
M.Sc: Admission into M.Sc programs in Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology, Food and Nutrition, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, and Biotechnology is dependent on the marks earned in the relevant bachelor's degree.
MA: Candidates for MA courses in English, History, and Human Resource Management should qualify according to their undergraduate scores in the relevant or associated subjects.
M.Com: Admission into M.Com is based on the scores in B.Com or related undergraduate programs.

The college was surrounded by green trees and the College has a canteen for all the blocks in the College and the lab facilities for the biotechnology students was filled with different varieties of instruments
