Dr Ambedkar College of Education, Bangalore Admission Process

Ambedkar College of Education in Bangalore is a well-known institution for teacher training. Besides a Bachelor's program, it offers a Master's program; so it has two courses that run full-time, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and the Master of Education (M.Ed.). Dr. Ambedkar College of Education follows an admission process that selects deserving candidates based on merit following the guidelines of the government of Karnataka, the UT administration, and the concerned university.

Eligibility: To be able to apply to the B.Ed program, candidates must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. For M.Ed programs, candidates are required to obtain a B.Ed degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Yet, the different eligibility criterion may depend on NCTE and the affiliated university's prescribed guidelines.

Usually, the college begins the admissions process for any given academic year according to the calendar of the state. Prospective students should thus verify specific dates and deadlines with the college or an admissions office. The admission process is therefore competitive, and two criteria seem to have been established, namely the marks made in the qualifying exam and-or the entrance put into place by the college.

Application Process:

The application process in Dr. Ambedkar College in Bangalore includes the following procedures:

  1. Announcement of Admissions: The college announces the beginning of this application process through its official website and some other means of communication.

  2. Application Form: The forms are made available to applicants which can be downloaded from the college website or can be collected in person from the college admission office.

  3. Submission of Documents: Candidates would fill in the application forms and submit them along with the required documents which include:

    • Copies of mark sheets of qualifying examination (10th, 12th, and undergraduate/B.Ed as applicable)

    • ID proof

    • Passport size photographs

    • Caste certificate (if applicable)

    • Entrance exam score card (if applicable)

  4. Application Fee: A sum as mentioned in the admission notification shall be paid by the candidates as application fees.

  5. Merit List Preparation: The college shall prepare a merit list on the admissions policy based on marks secured in the qualifying examination/or through entrance examinations results.

  6. Counseling and Seat Allocation: In due course of time some shortlisted candidates may be called for counseling sessions and subsequently allocated the seats against which they may confirm their admission based on merit and availability.

  7. Fee Payment: The selected candidates must deposit the requisite fees at the stipulated time to secure admission.

  8. Verification of Documents: The college reserves the right to verify from any authority all the documents submitted by the student before confirmation of admission.

Degree-wise Admission Process:

B.Ed: Dr. Ambedkar has been granted approval for 50 student admissions into the Bachelor's program in Education. The admission requirement is on merit based on the marks from the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination results, as endorsed by the stipulated policies from the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. The candidate should be an undergraduate for admission to the B.Ed program.

M.Ed: The in-take for any center Education program remains sanctioned for 50 seats. Whereas the selection to the M.Ed course shall be based on merit, the principle of the admission as for the B.Ed program takes into consideration the marks of the qualifying examination (B.Ed or equivalent) and/or scores in Entrance Examination. The selection will comply with the directive of the state, university, or UT Administration. The candidate should have a B.Ed. or equivalent degree for eligibility to the program M.Ed.
