Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Alappuzha, is a private co-education institute for pharmacy education, the institute is situated on an 18-acre campus in Alappuzha, Kerala. The admission process at Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Institute engages the qualified candidates for its various pharmacy programs. The institute offers three pharmacy courses: two UG programs (Bachelor of Pharmacy and Diploma in Pharmacy) and one PG program (Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacy Practice). The first three degrees are offered as full-time courses. The admission process is different in every program since there is a specific admission process based on entrance exam result for B. Pharma only.
The admission to B. Pharma is through merit seats filled from the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) Entrance examination. The merit list is published by the Government of Kerala through the Office of Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram. This procedure guarantees fairness and competition, where deserving candidates find an entry into their respective pharmacy program. Hence, students are advised to check on the deadlines and eligibility criteria of the admissions which are usually given by the CEE for the B.Pharma program.
Application Process
The application procedure at Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research differs from one course to another:
B.Pharma:
For D.Pharma and M.Pharma programs, admissions are vaguely stated, but generally they may include the following steps:
Degree Wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: An intake has been approved for the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program at Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Institute for 60 seats. This institute deals with admission for this program based on the merit list of the KEAM Entrance examination. Candidates must qualify in the KEAM exam conducted by the CEE, Kerala.
