Hi dear candidate,
With the CRL rank of 728867 and SC rank of 59006, your admission in top government colleges like IITs or NITs is difficult especially in very competitive branches like CSE and AI/ML, as these colleges have much lower cut off than your rank.
You can get admission in newly established NITs like NIT Mizoram or NIT Sikkim in the north eastern states but still your admission is not guaranteed.
You should try in government funded colleges (GFTIs) or state level government colleges as you have high chances there with core branches like electrical, mechanical etc.
GFTIs: Assam University, Birla Institute of Technology (Ranchi) etc.
State level: DTU Delhi, NSUT Delhi, JNTU (Andhra/ Telangana) etc.

With a KEAM rank of 25,000 , getting EEE or ECE in top government colleges like CET Trivandrum or GEC Thrissur is unlikely under the general category. However, you may get a seat in other government colleges like Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, or Wayanad, especially in later rounds or if you belong to a reserved category .

Greetings aspirant,
With a 66 percentile in JEE Main, you may have limited options for top tier government engineering colleges like NIT or IITs, but you can still find opportunities in some lower ranked NITs, GFTIs and state government colleges. If you are from reserved category then your chances of getting into certain colleges will be higher due to lower cut offs. You can try exploring some private colleges. For more information you can use the college predictor tool to know about all the colleges you can get with this percentile. Click on the link given below.

Hey there!
Thanks for your question! So yes, you can still get admission in a government engineering college with 55% in your Class 12, depending on a few factors. Most states and entrance exams like JEE Main or state-level ones (like WBJEE, BCECE, MHT CET, etc.) have eligibility criteria where you just need to pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Some require at least 45–50% in PCM, so with 55%, you’re above that in many cases!
Now, getting into top government colleges might be tough because they usually have higher cutoffs and competition, but if you’ve appeared for the entrance exam and have a valid score, there are still decent options you can go for — especially through state quota or if you’re from a reserved category.
Don’t worry at all — you’ve got options.
