Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training, Delhi, is a very old college that provides specialised postgraduate programmes in teacher education. The strength of seats for D.El.Ed course of GIAST is sanctioned at 100. Admission to the course is strictly on merit, i.e., the performance of the candidate in the 10+2 exam. For CBSE students, the first five subjects, one of which is a language, are considered for calculating percentage. Candidates from other boards are evaluated according to their board's passing marks, as per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the institute's prospectus. The total fee for the D.El.Ed course is Rs. 75,000.
GIAST has 100 seats available for B.Ed. The B.Ed admission is accepted through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. This is done to provide a fair selection process for all the applicants. Admission is accepted only on the basis of CET performance, along with the counseling process by the university. The total fee for B.Ed from GIAST is Rs. 180,200.
