Government Degree College, Banjar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has Gymnasium Hall equipped with modern facilities that have been established. Scientific evidence has shown that regular exercise provides cognitive benefits that could make scholarly efforts a little less taxing. Keeping this objective in mind, a Gymnasium Hall equipped with modern facilities has been established.

The college library has around 10000 books having a collection of both text and reference books. Latest subject books, magazines, and newspapers have been subscribed to the library. There is always an effort to purchase the latest editions of books to update the knowledge of students in various subjects. The library at present subscribes to twelve magazines, three journals, and four newspapers.

The College helps the students to understand the significance of discipline and competition through Sports. Moreover, sports build up the personality of sportsmen. In this college, the students have ample opportunities to participate in many games as mentioned below: Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Table Tennis, Chess, and Athletics.

The College has a modern age of digitization, and Information Technology Laboratory (IT Lab) with a Wi-Fi facility has been also set up. All the computers are interconnected through a LAN.

The College Canteen provides tea, snacks, meals, and special food items during the day at subsidized rates. The College Canteen Committee keeps an eye on the working of the canteen. As and when any change or reform is required, the committee immediately comes into action. A water Cooler and aqua guard have been installed in the canteen to provide clean drinking water to the students.  

The College has Wi-Fi connectivity available for students to get online everywhere on the campus. This helps students with their project work and preparing seminar presentations. It also helps the students to access e-books, study materials, etc.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college feels the necessity of constructing a Girls' hostel on a priority basis as students come from far-off villages which consume most of their energy and time. Especially girls face a lot of difficulty in commuting due to less frequency of public transport. Due to extreme weather conditions commuting becomes even more difficult. To avoid traveling at odd hours, poor rural girl students live in miserable conditions in costly rented accommodations.  

Various clubs such as Energy, Red Ribbon, Eco club and societies such as Literary, Science, Geography etc. are functioning in this college to aware students about current issues and impart inter disciplinary knowledge.
