Government Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad Admission Process

Government Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad (GDCH) is a renowned dental education and medical care institution. GDCH Hyderabad admission process is aimed at choosing the best-fitting candidates for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. GDCH has been approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and comprises a total of 10 courses spread in two degree programmes.

GDCH Hyderabad admission process is based on merit and is largely dependent on national-level entrance examinations. GDCH Hyderabad admission process for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course are through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET-UG), and for Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses, admission is through the NEET-MDS examination.

For BDS, the minimum eligibility requirements are passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. For MDS, applicants should have a BDS degree from a recognised college. Certain eligibility requirements might be different for each specialisation under the MDS course.

GDCH Hyderabad Application Process

Application process at Government Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad, is different for BDS and MDS courses:

  • For BDS Programme:
    • Appear for the NEET-UG exam held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
    • Clear NEET-UG with the minimum required percentile according to category.
    • Get registered in the state-level counseling process (for Telangana) based on NEET-UG score.
    • Submit the online application form for GDCH in the process of counseling.
    • Upload all the documents as and when required, such as NEET score card, 10+2 mark sheets, domicile certificate, and category certificate (as applicable).
    • Pay the application fee as indicated by the counseling authority.
    • Report to the counseling session if selected, on the basis of merit and seat availability.
    • In case of a seat being allotted, report to GDCH for document verification and admission formalities.
  • For MDS Programmes:
    • Take the NEET-MDS examination organised by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
    • Classify NEET-MDS based on the achievement of the minimum percentile as specified in the category.
    • Get registered in the state level or All India Quota (AIQ) counseling procedure by applying through NEET-MDS score.
    • Complete online application form of GDCH and chosen MDS specialties during counseling procedure.
    • Upload every necessary document such as NEET-MDS score card, certificate of BDS degree, completion of internship certificate, and registration certificate issued by State Dental Council.
    • Pay the application fee as designated by the counseling authority.
    • Appear for the counseling session, if shortlisted, on merit and seat availability.
    • If a seat is allotted, appear at GDCH for document verification and admission procedure.

GDCH Hyderabad Degree Wise Admission Process

GDCH Hyderabad offers admission to a total of 10 courses across two degree programmes.

GDCH Hyderabad BDS Admission Process

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery course in GDCH has an approved strength of 100 seats. Entry into the BDS course is done on the basis of the candidate's performance in the NEET-UG test. GDCH Hyderabad admission process is based on the NEET score, performance in 10+2, and other factors as per government guidelines.

GDCH Hyderabad MDS Admission Process

Nine MDS specialisations with an approved strength of 3 seats each are available in GDCH. The specialisations are:

GDCH Hyderabad admission process for MDS programmes is on the basis of performance in the NEET-MDS exam. The candidates should have completed their BDS degree and also met other requirements as specified by the Dental Council of India and the state government.

  • Academic mark sheets and certificates
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Domicile certificate
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Aadhaar card
  • Any other documents specified by the counseling authority or GDCH.

Fees of every year will be 1,22,917/-
