Government General Degree College, Gorubathan (GGDC Gorubathan) is a third-generation college in the West Bengal which started its journey in 2015. Situated in the attractively beautiful region of Gorubathan, in the Kalimpong district of West Bengal it is affiliated college which has emerged as significant Learning Institution in the vicinity. GGDC Gorubathan is a campus of 5.19 acres and is offering arts and science undergraduates programmes. In our college, we have more than 425 students and 25 teaching and non teaching faculties which enables the students receive individual attention and improve on their performances.
This college features a number of special amenities that are meant to improve student’s learning and studying environment. Stake at the core of all these is the Central library, which boasts over 1800 volumes of wide ranging subjects this includes science, humanities, social sciences, and literature. Open on all working days from 10:It has its operation from 00 am to 5:00 pm and is used mostly as a study and research area from students and scholars. In addition to the classroom lessons, the college conducts practicals in very well-equiped laboratories of Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry necessary to acquire practical experiences in each of these disciplines for science students . The college cafeteria, which has been functional from the month of April 2017, is not only famous for providing hygienically prepared and delicious food at cheaper prices but also as an important convergence of students. Also, GGDC Gorubathan has an active alumni policy; after graduation, people continue to cooperate with each other.
GGDC Gorubathan presently has a total of 10 undergraduate courses all of which are on a full time basis. These are include honours and many generality courses in numerous disciplines. The honors course in BA programme are Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepali, History and Political Science while the honors course of the B.Sc programme are Botony and Ziology. The college also has general BA and B.Sc programmes which give a student a broad based education in their field of specialisation.
