Government Medical College, Siddipet Admission Process

Government Medical College, Siddipet (GMC Siddipet) is an emerging institution; it is recognized by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal. The college provides several undergraduate and postgraduate programs covering medicine and allied health sciences. The admission into GMC Siddipet is a highly competitive one, and follows national-level entrance tests for entry into the various programs offered. For undergraduate courses, GMC Siddipet mainly admits students through NEET-UG, a national-level examination that is mandatory for all aspiring medical candidates in the country. The NEET-UG application usually starts in February, the main entrance test is conducted in May, the announcement of results usually comes in June, and finally, counseling will be conducted after that.

For postgraduate courses, the GMC Siddipet admits through NEET-PG examination. NEET-PG is generally conducted in January and the results are declared in February. After the results, the counseling for the postgraduate seats starts. Basic eligibility criteria for MBBS admission are completing a 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the core subjects. For the postgraduate programs, candidates must possess an MBBS degree from a recognized institution and have completed their internship.

Application Process

For MBBS Admission

  1. Qualify NEET-UG examination with required cutoff scores.
  2. Register for state-level counseling (since GMC Siddipet is a state government college). 
  3. Attach all necessary documents including NEET-UG score card, 10+2 mark sheets, domicile certificate (if applicable), and category certificates (if applicable).
  4. Attend counselling, per schedule announced by respective state counselling authority
  5. In case a seat has been allotted, one must report to GMC Siddipet for document verification and admission procedures. 

For MS/MD Admission:

  1. Pass the NEET-PG with the required cut-off scores.
  2. AIQ and/or state-level counselling registration.
  3. Present the necessary documents: NEET-PG score card, MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, and other relevant certificates.
  4. Attend the counselling session according to the dates given. 
  5. Report to GMC Siddipet for admission, if allotted a seat.

Diploma Programs: The actual admission process is likely to differ from one for MDC and MD/MS programs, and candidates are strongly encouraged to apply directly to the college of interest or by way of the state-level admission process. To confirm the more details regarding application procedures, candidates may also visit the official website of the concerned college or get in touch with the admission office.

  • NEET score card (UG or PG as applicable)
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Degree certificates (for PG admissions)
  • Category certificates (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if required)
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Character certificate from the last attended institution

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: GMC Siddipet has 175 MBBS seats based entirely on the NEET-UG. Candidates must qualify for the NEET-UG with the required cut-off marks to be eligible for counseling.

MS/MD Programs: The postgraduate programs include MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MS ENT, MS General Surgery, MS Ophthalmology, MD Biochemistry, MD Pharmacology, MD Psychiatry, MD Anatomy, MD Pathology, MD Forensic Medicine, MD Community Medicine, MD Physiology, and MD Microbiology. The NEET-PG score for admission to all these offered courses is required. Depending on the various specializations, the number of seats varies from 3 to 9 seats.

Diploma Programs: GMC Siddipet has diploma programs such as Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (20 seats) and Diploma in Dialysis Technician (10 seats). The admission procedure for these programs may differ from that of MBBS and MD/MS programs.
