Degree wise Admission Process
B.A.: HB College has a Bachelor of Arts program with an approved intake of 200 students. The admission to BA is generally taken on the marks scored in the 10+2 examination. Students from all streams, namely, Arts, Science, and Commerce, are eligible for this course. There may be certain subject combinations for which the college may offer; students can take them according to their interest and career goals.
BCA: HB College offers an intake of 60 students under the Bachelor of Computer Applications program. Admission to BCA is more likely to be competitively tough since the seats are limited. Even a student with a background in Mathematics or Computer Science in 10+2 would have an edge. The basis on which the selection is usually done is the merit list prepared from the score obtained in 10+2, relevant subjects etc.
B.Com: HB College permits a traditional Bachelor of Commerce program with an approved intake of 240 students. Students wishing to pursue B.Com must be assessed on the basis of marks obtained at the 10+2 level. Though students from the commerce stream would have more benefits due to their relevant background, other stream students also are eligible for admission provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria set by the college.
B.Com Computer Application: This specific B.Com has an approved intake of 180 students. The course is the combination of core commerce subjects along with computer applications, which can be opted for by students who are interested in both. Admission is similar to the regular B.Com program, but may be given additional weightage to those with a background in computer science or mathematics at 10+2.
