IASE Institute of Advanced Study in Education, Aizawl is one of the foremost educational institutions. It is situated in Aizawl, Mizoram. IASE has been building the future of education for nearly half a century.

IASE's admission process is designed to be holistic and impartial with the aim of selecting the most suitable candidates. The institute offers four full-time courses that span different levels of higher studies: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Master of Education (M.Ed), Master of Philosophy in Education (M.Phil), and Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D).

For admission in B.Ed, students are selected on the merit basis, marks secured in the qualifying exam, and/or entrance test. Guidelines issued by the central government, state government, and Mizoram University are adhered to by the institute. Admission to M.Ed is based on qualifying exam marks, entrance test performance, and could also include an interview.

Application Process

Application procedure for IASE is different according to the program:

For B.Ed program:

1. Check eligibility criteria and ensure you are fulfilling the academic requirement.
2. Obtain the application form from the institute website or directly from the admissions department.
3. Fill up the application form properly and in detail.
4. Collect all documents necessary, including academic transcript, certificates, and identification proof.
5. Submit the completed application form along with supporting documents within the specified deadline.

For M.Ed program:

1. Verify eligibility criteria for the M.Ed program.
2. Get the M.Ed application form through IASE's official channels.

4. Gather and seal all documents, including graduation certificates and marksheets.
5. File the application form and documents within the given time frame.
6. Appear for the entrance test if it is a component of that year's admission procedure.
7. In case of shortlisting, appear for the interview (if any).

For M.Phil and Ph.D programmes:

1. Check the specific eligibility criteria for research courses at IASE.
2. Download the application form for the specific research programme.
3. Fill out the application form providing details about your educational background and research interest areas.
4. Prepare research proposal if required by the institute.
5. Submit filled application along with required documents, such as academic documents, research proposal, and letters of recommendation (if required).
6. Appear in any entrance test or interviews as a part of the selection process.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: Intake capacity for IASE's B.Ed course has been sanctioned at 150 students. Meritorious admissions are done based on marks obtained at the qualifying examination and/or an entrance test result. It is for two years.

M.Ed: IASE has 50 seats available in the M.Ed programme. The admission process comprises marking of scores obtained in the qualifying examination, performance in an entrance exam, and possibly an interview. Like the B.Ed programme, the two-year period is taken to complete the M.Ed course as well.

M.Phil Education: IASE also provides an M.Phil degree in Education for those who wish to carry out advanced-level research, the process would most likely involve a combination of academic achievement assessment and assessment of research potential.

Ph.D Education: For those who want to pursue doctoral education in Education, IASE has a Ph.D program. Admission to Ph.D is generally strict, with screening of the research proposal of the candidate, academic record, and performance in interviews or entrance exams. The Ph.D course at IASE takes about six years to finish.
