Telling about any general percentile for securing admission in this types of core branches is not at all easy because it depends upon a lots of factors. The first is the college so as you have mentioned the name of the colleges so i guess all this colleges are some recognised and quite reputed college and that’s the reason you can find a good number of students applying for admission over here and specifically for the core branches only, due to it’s demand among the current situations. The next is you have to check the cutoffs of past few years to get a basic idea about how much you have to keep your aim so that atleast you should not at all go below that. Now the last is that you have to be completely sure and you have to keep a very target with a positive attitude so that it will be automatically increasing your chances for scoring a high rank.

In 2020 the JEE Main cut off was as follows for SC category to get admission in Jabalpur Engineering College

  • Mechanical Engineering: 203875
  • Information Technology: 160314
  • Industrial Production: 323328
  • Civil Engineering: 187777
  • Computer Science Engineering: 120627

The admission is based on All India Rank in JEE Main. Considering the previous year cut off in round 2 you need to secure AIR within 2,00,000 to secure such rank you need to score minimum 75 percentile or above in JEE Main. You should aim to score minimum 60-80 marks in JEE Main. Cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

If the score that you have mentioned is JEE Main percentile then the overall rank with the given percentile will be in between 102095 - 114770. The admission through MP BE counselling is based on All India Rank in JEE Amin. In 2020 MP BE round 2 the cut off for general category (home state) was as follows for admission to Information Technology

  • Shri G.S. Institute of Technology & Science, Indore: 27473
  • Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV, Indore :42127
  • Jabalpur Engineering College, Jabalpur,: 61190

You cannot take admission in iiitdm jabalpur or jec jabalpur through your board examination score. You need to give jee main to get admission in both the colleges. Iiitdm takes admission through josaa counselling while jec jabalpur is a state College and has its own counselling process.

Jabalpur Engineering college is the oldest College and has the best facilities far better than some IITs .

12th marks stand as a standing criteria for getting admitted in JGEC. However you have to appear for Madhya Pradesh Pre Engineering Test commonly known as MP-PET and score a decent rank for getting into JGEC.

Approximately 100 companies visited our college to offer placements. Many international companies like Infosys, Mahindra, Wipro and many other multinational companies regularly visit our college to offer placements.


Infrastructure : The infrastructure of our college is good. Some new designing is happening in our college. Wi-Fi facility is not provided in the college. The library in our college is huge, and it has a good collection of books. We can get a book related to every topic in our college. The canteen and labs in our college are good. There are separate labs for civil and BME.


Faculty : Every faculty member in our college is well-educated, good, experienced, and helpful. Teachers always get connected to all the students. Here, discipline is mandatory for everyone. Teacher to student ratio is 1:20. The teaching quality of our teachers is very good.

The ECE branch in Jabalpur Engineering College is a decent course in terms of placements. I will brief you about the college and the course.

Placements: Over 60% of the students from ECE branch gets placed every year. There is option available for opting either on-campus placements or off-campus placements. The off-campus placements are better and offer highest salary package upto 25 LPA. The on-campus jobs offer highest salary package upto 5-6 LPA only. Companies like Tata, Wipro, Samsung etc recruit students from this college.

Infrastructure: The campus has all the good facilities for students. There is a WiFi connection, smart classrooms, and a library. The labs are average in terms of modern equipment.

Faculty: The teachers from this college  are highly qualified with a degree and have very well teaching experienced. the course curriculum is also relevant.

Overall, this is a good college for EC branch.

What to tell it's better to be silent .

College Infrastructure

Smartboard is not there.lift is only for faculty not for students. Girls are very less in the college.Co-curricular activity is also not organised.They are not maintaining good lecturer who is efficient in their subjects.Sqme faculty teaching each & every subject

Overall I had really good experience in JEC

The infrastructure of my college is good. It has a well-stocked library, computer lab, auditorium, transportation facility, campus with internet facility,Canteen but it requires good management. I made many new friends, they help me a lot even my seniors are also very much corporative or you can say there is a friendly environment.All in All its good.

College Infrastructure

Required facilities and equipments were there but little maintenance needed. Sports department was fine. IT infrastructure was bit outdated but students managed somehow. Mechanical engineering department was good, rest of them were average.
