Jakir Hossain B.Ed. College is a teacher training college in Murshidabad, West Bengal, and is further regulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).  The admission procedure of Jakir Hossain B.Ed. College goes according to the policies of the State Government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. Accordingly, admission into both B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs is based on merit. Merit is computed from the marks at the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, wherever applicable, under the existing policies.

Application Process

• Mark sheets of the qualifying examination (10+2 for D.El.Ed. and Bachelors for B.Ed.)

4. Entrance Examination : Candidates may have to appear for the entrance examination this year based on specific policy.

6. Counseling and Admission: The shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling, wherein they will choose either B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. as per their preference based on the rank and availability of seats.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The selection for the Bachelor of Education program is purely on merit basis under Jakir Hossain B.Ed. College. The course has an approved number of 100 seats. Admission to the program is basically determined on the merit of marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examination and/or through the entrance examination. The process may involve selection as stipulated in the policy of the State Government administration, UT administration, and affiliated university concerned. Generally, a candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent of it from a recognized university to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program has a total of 50 seats in Jakir Hossain B.Ed. College. Admission to the D.El.Ed. program follows the same merit guidelines as those for the B.Ed. program. The merit is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or performance in the entrance examination. The admission regulations stipulated by State Government, UT administration, and the affiliated university will be followed. The D.El.Ed. aspirants are usually expected to be either 10+2 qualified or equivalent from a reputed board.
