Jan Nayak Ch. Devi Lal Memorial College of Pharmacy, Sirsa, is one among the esteemed institutions of Haryana, India, to impart pharmacy education. The college has a well-structured admission process for many diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate pharmacy courses in addition to different pharmacy programs. The admission process is very competitive and checks the prospective candidates on the basis of their eligibility criteria in entrance tests and academic record. For B.Pharmacy, admissions will be given on the basis of On-Line Entrance Test (OLET-Pharma), implemented by the Haryana State Counseling Society, Panchkula. The academic session is usually starting at August-September every year, while the admission process starts a few months prior. 

Candidates must pass the 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/University with the subjects: Physics, Chemistry and one of Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Information Technology. The college offers admission for M.Pharmacy to B.Pharmacy students who have secured 50% marks. Such students are given preference if they have qualified GPAT: Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test. GPAT-qualified students are also eligible to apply for the scholarships being offered under the MHRD scheme of AICTE, New Delhi. The D.Pharmacy program, too, has its own special eligibility criteria, consisting of criteria concerning subjects taken in 10+2 qualification.

Application Process

The admission procedure of Jan Nayak Ch. Devi Lal Memorial College of Pharmacy, Sirsa, differs according to the program:

For B.Pharma:

  1. Take the Online Entrance Test (OLET-Pharma) conducted by the Haryana State Counseling Society.
  2. Qualifying in the entrance exam with the required cut-off marks.

For M.Pharma programs:

  1. Visit the college site or inquisitive in the college admission office about the procedure.
  2. Fill the application form along with required documents and application fees. 
  3. Participate in counseling/interview rounds if applicable.
  4. Finalize admission formalities, once selected.

Generally required documents include:

  • 10th and 12th marksheets and certificates
  • B.Pharma degree certificate along with marksheets (for M.Pharma applicants)
  • Entrance exam score card (OLET-Pharma for B.Pharma, GPAT for M.Pharma if applicable)
  • Category certificates (if applying under any reserved category)
  • Domicile certificate (if required)
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Any other documents as instructed by the college or admission authority

Admission Process according to Degree

B.Pharma: The admission for the 4 years B.Pharma is through OLET (Pharma) which is conducted by Haryana State Counseling Society. The college has a total of 60 seats for this program. Eligibility criteria include 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and one of Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology or Computer Science/IT and should have minimum of 50% marks.

M.Pharma: The college offers three specializations in M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Chemistry (15 seats), Pharmaceutical Management and Regulatory Affairs (12 seats), and Pharmaceutics (9 seats). The admission is based on B.Pharma degree with at least 50% marks. GPAT-qualified students are preferred and are eligible for scholarships as well.

D.Pharma: The 2 year diploma in pharmacy has 60 seats. Specific admission details are not mentioned, but minimal qualifications usually require a 10+2 in relevant subjects.

B.Pharma Lateral Entry: This program provides entry for 6 bidders into the B. Pharma directly into the second year. Generic criteria for eligibility typically include a diploma in pharmacy or related field.
