Janki Devi College has all facilities and required amenities. Labs are good and well-maintained. It has fully air-conditioned library but resources provided by the library are old and they are not adequate. Food quality is okay. Other than this, hostel facilities and sports facilities provided by the college are good.
I did bachelor of commerce from Janki college. Overall, the academics was very good and even the teachers were amazing and helpful. Curriculum was also good and well-updated but it does not make you job-ready as hardly in India, no bachelors degree would make you job-ready.
Placements are way better than other colleges of DU. It is because there are very few colleges in India which provides placement to B. Com. (Hons.) students. At my time, the average package offered was around 2 lakhs per annum and highest package offered was around 4 lakhs per annum.
The infrastructure of campus is a matter of pride for the college as it is one of the most hygienic and green campuses of Delhi university and has secured 1st position in the university flower show. The campus comprises of 3 advanced computer labs, an open-air auditorium with a sitting capacity of 2000 people, classrooms with smart boards, 3 big sports ground, girls common room, seminar room, committee room, canteen (food is not so hygienic), mother dairy and a girls hostel for UG students.
I am perusing bcom hons from the college and the teachers are very good and helpful. The lectures are held regularly unlike most of the Delhi university colleges. There are 6 working days in this college with 4-6 lectures of 1 hour per day. The timetable also includes tutorials which is basically for doubt sessions and are very helpful for students. The college is a bit particular about attendance.
The college have a career opportunity cell which looks after the placement and career of the graduating students. They also give various opportunities for work from home internships in different companies. The average package of the job is around INR 3- 5 lakh per annum. Many big companies like EY, reliance, idea come for recruitment. The placements of are college are not very good though central university placements are always an option for Delhi university students.
I am perusing bcom hons from this college and my fees for the course is INR 16000 per annum which is a bit high from other Delhi university colleges but I believe that I am getting my money's worth as the crowd of my course is good and the campus is also very beautiful and well maintained. The college also have many societies by which there is overall personality development of students and students indulge in their favourite activities of all fields.
Janki Devi Memorial College is situated at Sir Ganga Ram Marg, New Delhi and is at a walking distance from karol bagh metro station which makes the college reachable from all parts of the city. As the college is on the main road and near metro station it is very safe. The karol bagh market is also at a walking distance from the college and CP is just 2 stations away from karol bagh metro station so you will always have places to hangout and reach your lectures on time.
This is a girl's colleg.
The infrastructure itself is grand and beautiful. Plenty of greenry and it is a spacious enough for the students to mill around and attend classes with other activities. However, sometimes when the work load grew, there were not enough classrooms and makeshift classrooms were created. There is more downside to the infrastructre than the upside. The toilets were almost never clean and were simply attrocious and the basic hygine all around was missing.
I was studying B.com (Hons) because it contained all the subjects I wanted to make a career out of. It is also one of the most demanded courses in DU. The quality of teaching is where this college excels. The teachers are mostly good and helpful if you build a rapport with them. However, the course syllabus and the way it was taught was reduntant. I went on to do higher studies, which made things pretty clear on how far off the studies were from real life. It does not make you job ready.
The worst possible thing in the college possibly. The placement cell is not as active as it should be. The job offers are a joke compared to what peer colleges are offered. But, if you do the analysis of ROI, It is good but if you want to climb the corporate ladder with a premium position, you will have to pursue other courses in order to be able to make the jump. Simple B.com from any insitituion apart from the Top 5, will not secure a good long term position.
DU's education is dirt cheap. It costs just about 10000-15000 a year, if I recall correctly. On that basis, yes I would recommend as the education and the facilities provided in that price is unparalled. But, in my opinion, they should raise the fees in order to provide facilities which top ranking universities provide across all of its affiliated colleges. Some colleges are exceptional and some are just down in the dumps. It should be even.
College campus itself is good. It houses a canteen and the location of the college is very accessible and there was a big Karol Bagh market nearby too. Students can frolick around and come back just in time to attend classes. Students in my course were also good. I have some friends for life. The teachers are fine, the younger teachers are easier to connect with and the support staff is not helpful at all. In the admin office, you pretty much have to figure stuff out for yourself.
Overall, I don't regret going to this college. I had about 3 options in the grades I got and this one, was the best one. It is an all girls college though, keep in mind.
college infrastructure was well equipped, college have very well maintained smart boards, college computer labs are well maintained plus the college campus cover good WiFi connectivity. All of the best thing is college have proper food hygenic conditions plus living spaces are very well cleaned in every hour.
I'm pursuing B.A Honours in History because I have a keen interest in History. About the teaching sessions so the teaching sessions are quite interactive teachers provide handy notes and readings too. absolutely curriculum is very well updated and include development in the fields of Academic activities, seminars etc. Well that depends how and what should be the keen interest of the student in career goals.
The Placement cell is quite very well supportive that provide various of internships, part time job opportunity etc. well I don't know about the placement percentage. The Highest salary package offered is 11 Lakh per annum and the course is Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM). The average salary offered is 4 LPA. According to my best of knowledge placement was easy and the staff and union group is very supportive.
My course cost per year is 25000 per year. Well according to me money is worthful because history is quite very well interesting subject to study.
The best feature about the college campus is the greenary of the college that add beauty to the college campus. The worst feature about the college is the prices of the food was little high. All the students, teachers and support staff was very supportive and are of friendly nature. The college is located near Sri Ganga Ram hospital, Rajender Nagar. absolutely all the emergencies can be handled.
The college is located near mtero station. All the shopping malls and markets are nearby to explore in free time.
