Crowd is not good... Wifi doesn't work well.. principal is biased with societies. There are no rooms for some society practises. Food is hygienic and clean. Canteen is nice but the lights and all.. it's dim, which makes it a room full of negativity. Playground and resting area are designed beautifully. Faculty is up to the mark.
Journalism. Good faculty. This study does not make me job ready as of now.. but sooner or later, it will. Yes, curriculum ia up dated and developmenta have been made in recent times as per the cbcs guidelines.
Placements are good. Internship fair is almost every year and more than 40 companies (most of them newly started) join and take interviews etc. 50% students were placed. And i dont have much idea abt salary offered. The internship i was at, paid for my courses relates to graphic designing etc, instead of giving away stipend.
My course was worth 18000/- but i cannot see that 18000 being put to use in terms of practicality of this course. We are not taken on the field to practise journalism. All we study is theory. Theory is taught real good but no practical knowledge is just as harmful in journalism.
Playground is good and great. But there are no activities to do around unless you are part of the sports team or so..
The college has a huge ground, chaupal , a decent library , modern auditorium , seminar rooms and well ventilated classroom. The canteen offers variety of options though the food is a bit oily . it has a well maintained outside sitting area
1) I'm pursuing BA (Hons.) Geography from Kamala Nehru College ,Notice of choosing this subject is • I want to appear for upsc once. • Want to study Urban planning in Masters and want to be an Urban Planner in future.• Looking ahead to join Navy as Cartographer also.
The college only provides placements for science and commerce students though they come up with different internship offers for different courses . carrier workshops are regularly conducted . paid internships offers come often
Reasonable fees
Quality of academics here in KNC , particularly faculty of Geography department is outstanding . 2) Absolutely the curriculum provided is great and very much perfect for my future and updated.Teachers are friendly
full of opportunities
The infrastructure of the college is not upto the mark. The one reason why the overall college reputation is low as compared to other du colleges like Gargi and jmc is because of its campus building and infrastructure. The faculty and teachers are great the only thing lacking is infrastructure.
The faculty is amazing for all courses and would totally recommend it. The only reason people would choose colleges like Gargi and jmc over knc is because of the infrastructure and campus. The teachers for my course are amazing.
Haven't really heard of anyone getting placements from campus. Though there are some courses like economic honours and bcom honours where students might get placements but for journalism or courses like history or sociology I don't think it's true
I think it's totally worth it
The
The college campus is poor. Though the location of the college is nice, the building looks old and depressing and the campus is extremely small. Even during teams of different colleges do not get places to practice in tthe campus which is very sad while the teachers quarter occupies a really large space while there are very few people living there
This college has a very pleasant environment but it lacks various facilities. There is a wifi in the college but it never works. Hostel facility is not available and there is shortage of classrooms too as it offers a lot of courses but the building is not that big. Most of the computer don't work properly and same is the case with smart boards
Academics at Kamala Nehru is worth acknowledgment . The principal is very strict about studies and the teachers are very supportive. The only drawback is the timetable here . There are a lot of breaks in between the lectures and students end up missing their lectures due to a huge time gap( varries between 1-3 hrs)
The placement cell is active but the average package is not that great (around 3 LPA). Also the percentage of students placed is quite low. Also the majority of students go for higher education and do not sit in placements.
I'm a student of b.com(hons) and my annual fee is around ₹13000 which I think is quite affordable and I think the value of facilities provided is more that that.
Kamala Nehru College is located in a very posh area and is very safe for girls. There are a lot of good societies in the college which offers students a lot of opportunities to learn and explore themselves. The fashion society of the college is one of the best in DU. Also the college has a very beautiful chaupal and a really nice canteen which offers tasty and hygienic food at a low price.
This is a women college and the atmosphere here is very nice but it lacks the fun and excitement which is there in a co-ed college.
The campus ain't that huge, even the infrastructure is not developed, we have limited classroom which hinders our time table. The college lack smart board in every class room. Even the network is really poor. Washrooms are somehow clean. Library is huge and up to date. The campus is clean, hygienic and safe..
The syllabus is up to date, professors are really professional and their method of teaching is appreciable. Teachers demand assignments/work on time and realtionship between students and teachers is very formal.
The placement cell of KNC work efficiently they keep on updating students about various internship on weekly basis. Various internship opportunities are offered to students even placement fair is conducted anually.
Journalism honours cost more than other courses. The course is up to date, hence it's worth the cost. As of now we pay about nineteen thousand anually.
Students may engage themselves in various societies to enhance their skills. Students are free to hang out in chaupal and college canteen, the food is good and hygienic. The location of our college good, you may easily communicate and it's safe as well.
The college has basic facilities including modern auditorium, well equipped sports centre , a good library, seminar rooms ,clean corridors though the washroom in journalism block particularly need upgradation and the cantoon food needs to be made less oily
I am studying Journalism honours as these field offers vast variety of opportunities , quality of teaching is really good with practicals taken in form of assignment. Definitely it is a job oriented course
Companies offering placements include e way, wipro related mostly to commerce faculty while there is no job placements for the humanities department. Though the placement cell does come up with lot of internship opportunities and also has its annual internship fair
My course costs 18700rs. Its very cost effective as compared to private institutions
There are more than thirty societies for students, departmental fests take place throughout the year while the college fest Ullas is very lively. Teachers are very supportive and assist freshers in getting comfortable in a new environment. The location is excellant, situated in green belt.
nil
KNC provides a very holistic environment for its students. One of the few colleges which houses a gym and a parking space for its students. The college has WiFi, a computer lab, a separate journalism block, huge ground, basketball court and a unique Chaupal which caters to the students needs of spending a gala time with their friends.
I am studying Journalism and KNC has the largest department in all of DU. The department is highly engaging, well read and the cream of the college. The professors are highly regarded and hold vast knowledge on diverse fields. Lectures and tutorials are taken seriously and deadlines are met religiously. DU's curriculum is up to date and divided in a fair share of theory and practicals.
Placements are well received for mostly the commerce and economic graduates. The arts and humanities courses usually choose higher education. Journalism employers include NIIT Limited and Inshorts who usually hire on a contractual basis.
I pay around 18,000 being a practical course. Relatively, yes, the value for money is well recognised. However, it could have been slightly better as other students pay somewhere around 7k to 10k and avail pretty similar facilities.
Located in Green Park, South Delhi alongside Gargi, NIFT and IIT Delhi, surrounding HKV and Dilli Haat, you are in for a ride! A metro ride takes you to South Campus and builds a very inclusive and exciting atmosphere.
KNC is one of the finest colleges of DU for women, with excellent faculty, and beautiful interiors. The canteens are a go to and college will please your aesthetics. I'll surely recommend a fresher to join KNC and for journalism, 110%.
KNC will welcome you with exquisite garden where flowers blooming in all shape and sizes. KNC has one of finest infrastructure, which include big classrooms surrounded with greenary all over the campus, bamboo rooms at ground floor, and adjacent to that we have three storey library which is well managed in terms of books as well as learning spirit. A canteen with wide varieties of hygienic and healthy food, and of course chaupal to have gala time and sports ground is a blessing (in winter).
I studied political science hons in KNC. And I'm blessed to have a teachers who are themselves a Pandora box of knowledge. The knowledge this subject provides to understand your society, your country, the politics, and human behavior associated with it are reasons I choose this subject but the perspectives, different lively examples faculty of pol sci provided is what makes it of the most interesting subject, updated with recent developments, which will help to have better grasp over reality.
Well political science students are more interested in further studies or preparing for other prestigious job and services. But placement cell in KNC is very active and always there for those who need it. Placement cell from time to time organises seminar to provide student opportunities of all sort. Commerce and others department student do get nicest placement at various companies with good perks and salaries. Internship opportunity and career counseling session are also organises by them.
Three year course in pol sci costs us around 28k. Which is I'm telling you is worth it considering the experience, exposure, fun, people, seminars, fest, societies and professor who are there to guide you to how to sail the boat of your life confidently. Overall the journey of this kind is worth spending this much money and too in college of this reputation.
KNC has one of the most vibrant atmosphere in all du campuses. We have societies which felicitate all sort of talent from dancing to painting to modelling to poetry to theatre to quiz and what not which students can engage in to have fun accompanied with learning. The crowd is very decent here, with posh location, silent environment, supportive staff and students. In terms of safety college have internal complain committee which is functional but still there are more to be done in terms of safety.
I enjoyed each and every part of my journey there. KNC gives me wonderful friends and teachers and memories which I'll cherish for rest of my life.
The college provides basic infrastructural facilities to students. We are provided with banking facilities and parking facilities as well. The well built library caters to our academic needs providing us with all the needful resources.
The BA. Programme faculty at KNC is very determined to bring the best out of their students. Teachers help us in every way possible with our studies and other queries. The syllabus is regularly revised and the practical knowledge application is well executed.
The placements for my course are not very delightful at KNC though the placement cell works day and night to help students get their dream job. The internship fairs help us get on field and their social media pages also get updated regularly with more and more job offers.
The course fee for my course is 10,000. The student experience is actually worth the money as we are well trained to work in the real life world as we step out of the college.
I actually like my campus life. Equal Opportunity Cell and NSO keeps me busy and helps me engage with new mates. Teaching and admin staff is very supportive as well.
The college has been my safe place where I feel protective and conserved amongst other girls.
The library at KNC is very well built and vast. Classrooms are airy and and laboratories are good. Bank and parking facilities are also provided to students. The food at the canteen is good and hygienic. The college also has a gym along with an expert instructor for students.
The academic faculty for Hindi Hons is very good. The teachers are very helpful and dedicated. The curriculum is also updated from time to time to keep us at the same pedestal as of the colleges. The assignments and tests shape our personality in a wholesome way.
Prospicio, the placement cell at our college is a very active team constantly working to bring in companies to the college. They also organise internship fairs to bring opportunities to students. The placement opportunities for Hindi department are not very satisfactory in real.
The fee for my course is 9k. The experience on academic terms is highly worth the money as teaching and non teaching staff help us in every way possible.
My college campus is overall nice to my personal experience. Students take parts in various extra curricular activities being in various societies. KNC is located in Green Park which is quite a safe place for girls traveling to and fro the place.
I am very much pleased with my course and college here Kamala Nehru College.
