Karan Institute of Technical Education, Kurukshetra Admission Process
Karan Institute of Technical Education (KITE), Kurukshetra, is a prominent technical institute which provides diploma courses in different streams of engineering. The AICTE-approved institution has a common admission process to select candidates on a merit and fair basis for its diploma courses.
The most visible mode of entry to KITE is through a common entrance test organized by the Department of Technical Education (DET), Haryana. The centralized admission is meant to check the aptitude and knowledge of the aspiring students in the respective disciplines. The institute provides five full-time diploma courses, each for different specializations in engineering.
Admissions in KITE are usually concurrent with the academic year, and the process usually starts in advance of the academic year. Application Process
The admission application process of Karan Institute of Technical Education, Kurukshetra, is a multi-step process:
1. Registration for Entrance Exam: The applicants should register for the common entrance test conducted by the Department of Technical Education (DET), Haryana. This would typically entail submission of an online application form and payment of the required examination fee.
2. Entrance Test: Attend the DET common entrance test on the specified date. The test typically contains questions related to engineering aptitude such as Mathematics, Physics, and general technical knowledge.
3. Declaration of Result: Once the test is over, wait for the result to be declared by DET Haryana. Results are typically declared on the official DET website.
4. Counselling Process: The selected candidates are then called for a counselling process. In this session, candidates select their desired institute and course depending on their ranking in the entrance test.
5. Verification of documents: Once the seat is allotted in KITE, the candidates need to appear at the institute for document verification. The documents needed are generally:
- 10th and 12th standard mark sheets and certificates
- Entrance exam score and admit card
- Category certificates (if applicable)
- State domicile certificate (for state quota seats)
- Any additional documents as may be demanded by the institute or DET Haryana
6. Payment of Fee: Upon successful verification of documents, candidates need to pay the fee for the course of Rs. 98,100 for confirming admission.
7. Final Admission: After the completion of all the above, the candidate is formally admitted into their preferred diploma course in KITE.
Degree wise Admission Process
Diploma Courses: Five diploma courses are provided by KITE, for which the admission process is same through the common entrance test for DET. These courses and corresponding intake capacity are:
1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 120 seats of sanctioned intake. Admission is via the candidate's performance in DET common entrance test.
2. Diploma in Civil Engineering: It also has a capacity of 120 seats which admits candidates on the basis of their DET entrance test ranks.
3. Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: It offers 60 seats whose admission is decided on the basis of DET common entrance test performance.
4. Diploma in Computer Science Engineering: There are 60 seats available for this course, admissions to which KITE makes on the basis of the DET entrance test-based admission scheme.
5. Diploma in Electrical Engineering: The intake of this course also is 60 seats, with admissions being made on the basis of performance in the DET common entrance test.
For all of these diploma courses, the total fee structure is Rs. 98,100, which is not different with regard to specializations.
