Hello Jaya,

If you h ave scored 74% from Medical, you may not be able to get an admission in Journalism UG Course from LSR, as cut-offs are far higher, and you would be at a disagvantage of 2.5% for changing your stream to Humanities.

I suggest you appear for the Journalism Entrance, or try for other colleges and universities. If you have appeared for IPU's Journalism, that would surely benefit you!

I hope this was helpful!

Hello dear aspirant,
The registration process for UG courses in Delhi university has started from 30th May 2019 and for getting admission in LSR you have to fill the form of Delhi University. The admission process has just started and it would go about a month or 2.
So, Sit back and Relax and first of all fill the registration form for DU and wait for the subsequent cutoff lists to come.

Hope it works.
All the best.

If you are an IAS aspirant, you would undoubtedly want to commence your IAS studies right from college. So, it would be prudent on your part to take up subjects that would aid your IAS preparation. You not only save time but also would have the extra mileage compared to candidates who would start these subjects afresh. This article discusses the best subject in BA for IAS.
Let us take a look at the subjects that are part of the UPSC syllabus.
  • General Studies I: History, Geography
  • General Studies II: Polity, Public Administration
  • General Studies III: Economics, Ecology, Environment, Science & Tech
  • General Studies IV: Ethics (Philosophy/Psychology)
As you see, most of them are humanities subjects. In your graduation, you could take up any of the above subjects like history, geography, political science, public administration, philosophy, etc. Economics is also recommended for those who are interested in it. It will help you understand a lot of the concepts at the college level itself. Frankly, it is a good backup subject in case your IAS dream remains unfulfilled. You could also take up philosophy in your graduation since it will help in GS Paper IV and also in the essay paper.
Analyze the options before you and take up subjects that you can optimize for your general studies papers. Generally, humanities subjects have received good success in the UPSC exams. It is regarded as the home ground of the UPSC. Although there are many toppers who have bucked this trend, if you are sure about your IAS goal even before graduation, it would be wise to take up a related subject in your graduation.

Hey Alka,

You have a good probability of getting admission into Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University as the cut offs are usually between 95%--99% . You need to calculate the percentage of your best four subjects taking into consideration the subjects you want to take for further studies i.e. english and psychology/sociology. Be very punctual for applying for admission and for presenting the documents required to secure your seats.

Your scores are really very good!

Hope for the best! :)

St. Stephens does not have any commerce course. The commerce courses are economic honours and bcom honours in these colleges. Also if you are a general category student it is difficult for you to get admission in srcc or lsr with this percentage as the cut off goes more than 90%

Hiii Mradula,
Hope you are doing well. Your score in the boards is very good .
Since LSR is one of the most reputed college in DU, so it's cut-off also goes higher than other colleges offering same course.
I am mentioning you the last year cut-off for BA(Hons) PSYCHOLOGY for different categories  :
  • GEN - 98.25
  • OBC - 96.50
  • SC - 95.75
  • ST - 96.50
These all are 1st CUT-OFF of LSR in 2018.
For GEN category all seats got filled up in the FIRST CUT OFF only.
But for other categories seats were vacant till 10th cut-off.
  • OBC - 93.75
  • SC - 91.25
  • ST - 88.50
These are 10th cut off results.
Also,  a combination of courses which includes PSYCHOLOGY are available in LSR which you can opt.
  • POLITICAL SCIENCE & PSYCHOLOGY
  • ECONOMICS & PSYCHOLOGY
  • SOCIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGY
           GEN - 97.75
           OBC - 94.50
           SC - 92.50
          ST - 92.50
All these cut offs are same for the respective combination of subjects. The FIRST and SECOND cutoff for combination of subjects is same.
Since you got 97 as aggregate marks which is not much less than last  year cut off, so there are chances that you can get LSR.
Hope for the best. :)
Thanks :)

Hi, it's unlikely to get admission in LSR with 97 percentile. Looking at last year's cut off 97.50 was the last in the 5th list. There might or might not be some changes. There are some other good colleges in DU where you will get admission with your percentile for sure like Jesus and Mary college, Mata sundari college for women, IP college for women, kamla nehru college, zakir Hussain. Good luck.

Hy mansi !!

First of all ,congratulations for your result 94% is really a good score . you are a brilliant student . Talking about Miranda House there are chances for you getting admission in this college, infact you can try for lady Sriram College as well ,but as the percentage of students this year was very high. So it is a bit uncertain to assure you about the cutoff level but with 94% marks you definitely stand in the competition and there are chances admission in this college.

Hope it helps you!!

All the best!!

College Infrastructure

It has a like very good infrastructure we have a library with good lecture room yes it is not ac equipped but very nicely organised. But ya hostel availability can be a problem there The college has given different areas for different activities like for those societal activities as well so overall it has a really good infrastructure with excellent facilities

Overall it’s satisfactory.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is not royally amazing but sufficient for normal conduct. New building is very good and well ventilated and spacious. Old building is a bit conjusted we have four IT rooms with Wi-Fi , we do not have AC but their are many trees rendering a cooling effect so overall it is decent.
