Madha College of Nursing, Chennai Admission Process

Madha College of Nursing, Chennai, is a momentous educational institution that specializes in the teaching of nursing. Incorporated under the Indian Nursing Council (INC), a stringent admission policy exists that selects the very best nursing students for the institute.  At Madha College of Nursing, the admission process holds the key to selecting nursing students who have the potential to become successful professionals. Even amidst the uncertainty of rigid admission dates, the college assures that each fact of the candidate's past and present qualifications is fairly weighed. Sc Nursing undergraduate program, the college considers the candidate's marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent with stress being laid on science subjects such as Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Application Process

3. Document Submission: The application must be supported by relevant documents listed as follows:

  • Marksheets of an applicant post his/her completion of the examinations (10+2 for UG programs, degree for PG programs)
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Certificate (if applying under reserved category)
  • Recent Passport-sized photographs

4. Entrance Examination: Some programs might require an entrance exam prepared by Madha College of Nursing for a capability test for Indian nursing awareness.

5. Interview: Based on the entrance exam performance, the students who are shortlisted can attend personal interviews or group discussions to judge the students' communication ability, motivation factors, or the choice of a career in nursing.

6. Merit List: Final merit selection will be based on the component bearing on entrance examination/interview and academic records.

7. Counselling and Seat Allocation: On merit list ranking, candidates will be called for counselling, and they can choose their preferred course for other possibilities, like selecting any specialization in a different area of M.Sc.

8. Fee Payment: The candidate shall pay the fees within a prescribed time from the date of confirmation.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Sc Nursing: An important focus area of Madha College of Nursing, the four-year undergraduate programme admits 100 students. Selection for this B.Sc programme will be mainly based on the candidate's matriculation with Science subjects. The college may have an admission test followed by an interview process.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This is a 30-student program aimed at registered nurses willing to upgrade their qualification. Key condition for eligibility is the having of a GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) diploma. The evaluation of the candidates may also take into account their earlier scholastic records and experience.

M.Sc Nursing: During the postgraduate course at the college, they work in various specializations and intake capacities with greater numbers. For such:

  • M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing (10 seats)
  • M.Sc Paediatric Nursing (5 seats)
  • M.Sc Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing (5 seats)
  • M.Sc Psychiatric Nursing (5 seats)
  • M.Sc Community Health Nursing (5 seats)

Applications are received from students attaining their B.Sc Nursing degree. The evaluation process will likely involve an entrance test followed by an interview. As for the undergraduate performance and related work history, Madha will look into it.
