National College of Information Technology (NCIT), started in 2001 is an accredited premier institute offering education in computer science to its students located at Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab state of India. This affiliated college is committed to quality education in information technology and commerce. Located at Gurudwara Dattan Sahib Road behind the PU Regional Centre, NCIT was established in the early 1990s for moulding the future professionals to serve their respective companies.
The National College of Information Technology has strength of 11 fully dedicated teacher faculties for each student to help them develop their full potential. NCIT provides four full time courses for its students, two of which is at undergraduate level and two at postgraduate level to ensure that it provides a course appropriate to the needs of each student. College library being an information center has about eleven thousand titles and thirty-eight thousand volumes. It also get 220 national journal and 600 international journals that lets student update themselves on the new research and development in their area of specialization. This facility has computers and internet connection for Wi-Fi and students can easily browse e-journals and do online searching. The library includes leading state and national newspapers, along with 48 magazine subscriptions, available in a large and quietly tucked- away reading area for those who enjoy traditional media.
The IT structure adopted by the college is quite impressive, given the fact that the college focuses on technology. The computer labs have all licenses for Windows 7, WAMP Server, Microsoft Office and C, C++, Java and Visual Basic. Students also get exposed to tools such as Oracle 10g and different CASE tools which enable the students have real life experience on different technologies used in the market.

Admission to this program depends to a large extent on the performance of candidates in the 10+2 examination, with due weightage given to relevant subjects in commerce as well as to considering the competent academic standing of each applicant in the decision process.
BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): Thus, for those who want to be known as IT professionals, NCIT provides a fantastic BCA. Generally admission to this program is determined by the performance of the candidate in his or her 10+2 examinations with preference given to those who studied mathematics/computer science. The college may also conduct an entrance exam/interview in order to gauge the candidate's aptitude for computer applications.
M.Sc Information Technology: Students wishing to specialize in advanced areas of information technology can take this postgraduate program. Admission into the M.Sc (IT) degree is generally merit based with respect to the qualifying degree examination but preference will be given for undergraduate studies in BCA, B.Sc (IT), or B.Tech. This includes having been considered with respect to the merits obtained in other entrance examinations and also having conducted its admission test.
PGDCA: This is a one-year diploma program offered by NCIT to all graduates interested in refining their skills in computer applications.
