It cannot be said as to what is the marks you score in GAT, as it depends on how other candidates score. So admission takes place on the basis of rank not on marks. Bu tto get admission in NIFT Delhi, you have to get an all India rank of 100-400 to be in the safe zone.

You can opt for Btech in Footwear Technology

Some engineering colleges in India also offer direct admission in the second year to the students who are holding a diploma in the same stream. Some colleges conduct an entrance exam for diploma students for their admission directly in the second year of the B.Tech in Footwear Technology. Such lateral entry for the diploma holder’s students will be in the third semester. Students with minimum 60% marks in the diploma are eligible to take admissions in the B.Tech course. 

Colleges offering Lateral Entry are

• Punjab University
• Delhi Engineering College
• IP University

Hello Preetam,

There is no reason  given by the NIFT about the age limit to give entrance exam. The major reason behind these type of eligibility criteria to give entrance exam is that the Candidate must have join the graduation course before the age limit set by them. For SC/ST the age limit is relaxed by 5 years by NIFT.
