The National Institute Of Technology(NIFT) is one of the prestigious institution in India and has huge popularity among students, so a large number of students every year try their level best to get in it hence it increases its demand due to which it requires a good rank to get in it. Now seeing at your rank i would say that it’s a good one and surely you should try in any of the NIFT’s only the thing is NIFT Mumbai is considered as a top NIFT hence a little difficulty may arise in it for securing a admission due to its high rank cutoff hence choosing a college should be done wisely.

Considering the cut off you do not have chances of getting seat in Fashion Design in NIFT, you do not have chances of getting seat in any other course. SO you may have to seek admission in any other college or wait for a year and again appear for NIFT entrance examination and secure a decent rank. The NIFT Colleges are considered as one of the best private colleges in India due to its valuable records and a great academic excellence. Now the marks which you have scored is a good one and even your rank is quite impressive, so if you are looking for admission in NIFT Mumbai than i would say little difficulty may occur due its very huge popularity and also it is the number one NIFT amongst others but surely you can try because you also belong to a OBC category and your rank in that category is also good so your try should be must.

Firstly, congrats on successful completion of your NIFT examination. The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With a rank around 4000 in General Category, its not possible to get many of the NIFT seats. You can get Leather Design at Raebareli campus as the closing rank for General category was 4125 in the year 2020. You have very less chances of getting other seats in any of the other NIFT campuses in General Category. Just apply to their counselling process and as it is conducted in different rounds, your chances of securing a seat increases.

If your EWS have passed its validity date, it cannot be used for further admission into the NIFT for B.Des course or any other institution. It is mandatory to update the EWS Certificate as per the ongoing financial year. An EWS Certificate is valid only for one financial year. If your EWS certificate was of 2020, then its validity got over in March 2021.So, as you have already used it, chances are you will not avail EWS Category. You will be placed under general category. If you meet the cutoff of general category, you will surely get admission.

See, the admission is done on the basis of the score you secured in GAT(General Ability Test) exam provided that you fulfill the other minimum required eligibility criteria.

Below are the eligibility criteria for B.FTech in NIFT Chennai.

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, chemistry and Math with any recognized board or senior Secondary School Examination held by the National Open School. Or if a student holds diploma degree in any branch of engineering then the student is eligible.
