The cut off is institute specific, category specific and courses specific. So if you have scored a good rank in the entrance exam you can surely apply in the different NIFT’s among India in which you are seeking admission for and if you get selected in any of the NIFT than you will be eligible for further studies in that particular NIFT, only because in NIFT’s also there are different ranking some are at a higher level than other, and talking about NIFT Mumbai it is considered as number-1 NIFT so you won’t be able to change your centre inspite of scoring a very good marks.
