Have a question related to PMEC Berhampur ?

i got 500000 rank in jee mains 2025 amd i belong to obc catagory can i get admission in pmec berhampur

Dear Candidate,
With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 500,00 and belonging to the OBC category , securing admission to Parala Maharaja Engineering College ( PMEC ) , Berhampur is unlikely, especially for core branches like CSE or ECE .
PMEC JEE Main cutoff trends ( 2024)
-CSE - 200,975
-ECE - 374,629
-Electrical Engineering - 1,507,148
-Mechanical Engineering- 1,505,104.

I got 9 lakh rank and my cast is obc so can I get electrical engineering in pmec

With a 9 lakh rank in JEE Main 2025 and OBC category , it is not likely to get admission in Government colleges like PMEC (Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, Odisha) through JoSAA or CSAB counselling , as their cutoffs are much lower (typically within 2–3 lakh rank for OBC).

Why It’s Difficult:

  • PMEC is a state government college and primarily admits through OJEE or JEE Main ranks .

  • For Electrical Engineering , even under OBC category, the closing ranks are typically under 2.5 lakh (CRL) .

  • A 9 lakh CRL rank is too high for any government engineering seat .

Your Best Options:

  1. Apply through OJEE or state-level counseling (if you're from Odisha) — sometimes diploma/spot seats are available.

  2. Look at private engineering colleges in Odisha or nearby states that accept high ranks or direct admission.

  3. Consider diploma-to-degree (lateral entry) route if you’ve done a diploma.

  4. Explore colleges offering management quota or fee-waiver schemes for OBC or low-income students.

i got 48k rank in sc category and 6 lakh rank in general can i got seat in pmec and i also have girls quota

Hy,

With an SC category rank of 48,000 and a general rank of 600,000 in the AP EAPCET , your chances of securing a seat in PMEC (Peddagantyada Municipal Engineering College) will depend on several factors, including previous cut-off trends, the number of available seats, and the specific branch you are interested in.

Factors Influencing Admission

  1. Previous Year Cut-offs:

    • SC Category: Generally, colleges have different cut-offs for reserved categories, and your SC rank of 48,000 may allow you to secure admission, especially if the college has a good number of reserved seats.
    • For PMEC and similar colleges, previous cut-offs for SC category students might be in the range of 40,000 to 60,000 , but this can vary by year and the specific branch.
  2. Girl Quota:

    • Many engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh have a girl quota or may offer some additional considerations for female candidates. This may enhance your chances of getting a seat.
  3. Counseling Rounds:

    • The admission process typically involves multiple rounds of counseling. If there are seats available after the first round, you might have better chances in subsequent rounds.
  4. Branch Preferences:

    • If you are open to branches other than the most sought-after ones (like CSE or ECE), you may find it easier to secure a seat. Less popular branches often have higher cut-off ranks.

Recommendations

  1. Check Previous Year Cut-offs:

    • Review the previous year’s cut-off data for PMEC specifically, focusing on both SC and general category ranks. This will give you an idea of your chances.
  2. Participate in Counseling:

    • Make sure to actively participate in the counseling process and choose your preferred colleges and branches wisely.
  3. Consider Other Options:

    • Be flexible with your choices and consider applying to other colleges as well, in case you do not secure a seat at PMEC.
  4. Stay Informed:

    • Keep checking the official AP EAPCET counseling website for updates regarding seat allotments, counseling schedules, and any announcements.
