Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Thiruvalla Admission Process

Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre (PIMSRC) in Thiruvalla is among the premier educational institutions in the state of Kerala. The PIMSRC admission process offers a plethora of undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-speciality medical courses. For their selection of students, PIMSRC, in fact, adheres to a very stringent admission procedure, ensuring the brightest students based on national-level entrance examinations. Usually conducted in May-June, the PIMSRC admission process for the MBBS and other courses begins for the academic session in August-September. Under NEET UG, the undergraduate admission for MBBS is conducted on the basis of NEET-UG; for MD, MS, and DM, admission into postgraduate courses involves tests based on NEET-PG; NEET-SS scores are accepted for Super-speciality course admissions.

PIMSRC admission process eligibility conditions for applying to the MBBS course state that the candidate must have completed higher secondary education (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects. There is also a score requirement of a minimum of 50% marks for the MBBS course eligibility by regulatory norms. Candidates for MD, MS, and DM postgraduate courses must possess an MBBS degree from an accepted institution. NEET-UG 2025 will be held for December admission, with the application available from February 6, 2025, to March 6, 2025. NEET-PG 2025 Counselling will be held from February 19-27, 2025, and NEET-SS will be held from February 3-24, 2025.

PIMSRC Application Process

Application processes for Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre vary according to programmes:

For MBBS:

  • Qualify in the NEET-UG.
  • Apply online for the centralised counselling by the state or central authorities.
  • If a seat is allotted in PIMSRC, the candidate should report for admission along with the IM-1 form for verification of documents.

For MD/MS Programmes:

  • Qualify in NEET-PG.
  • Apply to the centralised counselling for postgraduate medical admissions.
  • If selected, the candidate will complete the admission process by verifying documents and paying the fees at PIMSRC.

For DM/M.Ch:

  • Qualify in NEET-SS.
  • Participate in the centralised counselling for super-speciality courses.
  • If a seat is allotted in PIMSRC, complete the admission process.

PIMSRC MBBS Admission Process

PIMSRC offers an MBBS programme. Admission to the MBBS programme, for which the institute has 100 seats, is based on the NEET-UG score. To be eligible for admission, candidates are required to have passed the NEET-UG as well as completed a 10+2 course with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their compulsory subjects.

PIMSRC MD/MS Admission Process

PIMSRC offers MD/MS programmes. The major programmes at PIMSRC include: Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Pathology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as several other PG programmes. The admission is on the basis of NEET-PG ranking. To be eligible, the applicants are required to own an MBBS degree from a recognised medical school.

PIMSRC DM/M.Ch Admission Process

PIMSRC offers DM/M.Ch programmes. The programmes available are DM in Nephrology, Neurology, and Cardiology; M.Ch in Neurosurgery. Admission is dependent on the NEET-SS score. For eligibility, candidates must have completed their MD/MS in the relevant speciality.

PIMSRC Document Process

  • NEET scorecard, 
  • Mark sheet, and 
  • Certificates of the 10th and 12th grades; 
  • Mark sheets and degree certificate of the MBBS program (for PG and super-speciality courses); 
  • Internship completion certificate; 
  • Valid ID proof; caste certificate (if any); 
  • Migration certificate; and 
  • Recent passport-size photographs.

Admission is based on merit in the qualifying degree.

The academics at our college is very good. The professors are well experienced and are always approachable in case of doubts. We also receive lab sessions for practice. I am an MBBS student. Our syllabus is updated, but not much frequently.

You have no chances of getting a Govt. college with 530 marks as you need to get a minimum of 550+ marks to get a seat in Government Medical College. This score is neither too bad nor too good score. The admission mainly depend on the cutoff of your domicile state. You can get a seat in private medical colleges for MBBS. The fees is from 2.5 lakhs to 8 lakhs. The fees differs from college to college. Most of the colleges have fees around 3 lakhs. You can't get a seat in Govt. Colleges with this score.

The fees in Pushpasri Institute of Medical Sciences is Rs. 2,520,000 for MBBS course.
