Ramya Sathianathan College of Education, Thanjavur, has been set up in 2012 and is one of the main colleges to impart teacher education in the Tamil Nadu state of India. Situated at Sengipatti Budhalur Road, Pudupatty this co educational college is an affiliated college recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE affixed to the institution. It is credited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) seal which indicates the college’s thrust to quality education. Comprising four buildings spread over only 0.69 acres of campus, the college enrols 166 students and has a proud staff of sixteen full-time faculty members designed to provide the optimal academic environment for trainee teachers.

Ramya Sathianathan College of Education boasts over different facilities that are aimed at improving the student experience. The institution provides a different section of hostels for male and female students providing security and comfort to the learners. The college library functions as an information centre stocked with 4023 books, and the college subscribes to 11 Indian and foreign magazines and journals besides updating the library with its e-journals and periodicals. For practice, the college has various laboratories such as Methods lab, Psychology Laboratory, Science and Education Technologies Laboratory. This is through the newly renovated computer laboratory complete with 20 brand new internet accessible personal computers that ensure the provision of technology in learning. Futhermore, for a comprehensive development of the students the college offers a sports ground, gymnasium, and indoor stadium in form of an auditorium.

Ramya Sathianathan College of Education mainly is a teachers training college which has only one full course of study – Bachelor of Education B.Ed. programme. This two-year programme has an approved quota of 100 students, which is in line with the focus of the college which is to produce future educators.

The admission procedure followed in the College is as per the norms standard by the state government/Union Territory Administration and affiliated University. They select students through an interview based on the marks that the student got in his previous test or the exam that the student passed. The college may use other admission procedures supplementing the above ones, according to the set national requirements.
