Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT), which was founded in the year 2010 and is a Constituent College in Burla, Odisha . SUIIT stands in a vast 496-acre campus and has grown into one of the leading institutions in technical education. The institute is comprised of a total of seventeen courses in five degree programmes, with a total student enrolment of five hundred twenty-one. The faculty of SUIIT focuses on 29 members, which, in combination with a favourable student-to-teacher ratio, guarantees a high quality of learning.

SUIIT currently has modern infrastructure, which effectively facilitates service delivery to its students. The institute consists of a central library with all provisions to meet effectively the information needs of the students Along with this, there is an online digital library connected with INFLIBNET. IT infrastructure is worth mentioning; additional/specialist labs include CISCO Networking Lab, Oracle Database Lab, and Sun Java Programming Lab. Complementing these is the Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machine and Electronics Laboratory; other more sophisticated laboratories are in the pipeline. At post graduate level, SUIIT offers M.Tech degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, Communication System Engineering and Embedded System and Design. It also provides the MCA and M.Sc. programmes in Computer Science and Electronics. Also, post-graduation programmes have also been added in the streams of SUIIT and it has started new specialised B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Cyber Security; thus, the university holds its position in the technological innovation.

OJEE is the major mode of admission in SUIIT, although it does offer a few other ways to admit its students. For all B.Tech programmes, admission is available to the candidates who clear the OJEE only. As mentioned above, the institute provides a write test for postgraduate programs in which the weightage of the career assessment test is 30% while the weightage of the written test is 70%. According to this voluminous assessment, the worthy and most qualified candidates are selected to join the programmes. The seat matrix for MCA programme is 50 percent through OJEE ranks and the remaining 50 percent admission through institute-level test.

The Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT) and is currently one among the most prestigious constituent colleges known for offering extensive and diverse undergraduate to doctoral programs in engineering and technology. The SUIIT has planned a holistic selection mechanism through various entrance examinations and other evaluation methods to select the most capable candidates for joining the institution. Most of the offerings in the SUIIT are admitted through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). This is a state-administrated, annual entrance examination that, among other things, is performed for admission into varied technical and professional courses within the state of Odisha.

Admission to courses in B. Tech programs is based purely on the OJEE score. In addition to this, SUIIT conducts its entrance tests for a few postgraduate programs which include career assessment and written examinations. As a rule, the admission cycle follows as specified in the OJEE scheme; hence, applications usually open in the first quarter of the year. Application Process

The application process is different for every program at SUIIT:

For B.Tech:

Register for and appear in OJEE examination.
Qualify OJEE with a rank within the SUIIT cutoff.
Take part in the OJEE counseling.
Select SUIIT and preferred B.Tech course during counseling.
Report to SUIIT, if allotted a seat, for document verification and admission formalities.

For M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc:

1. 50% seats allocated for MCA through OJEE. For these seats also, observe OJEE counseling process.

2. For remaining seats of MCA and for all seats of M.Tech and M.Sc:

Application will be done through the SUIIT website notification.
Appear for institute entrance test.
Career assessment, 30 per cent weightage, written test, 70 per cent weightage.
In the selection list, complete the admission at SUIIT.

For Ph.D programs: Exact numbers are not given, but the overall procedure will likely include:

Apply through the SUIIT website when admissions for the Ph.D. programs are announced.
Entrance tests and/or interviews as guided by the institute will be required.
If selected, proceed to complete the admission formalities at SUIIT.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Tech Programs: SUIIT has B. Tech Programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and specialized courses in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Admission to all B.Tech programs is purely through OJEE. The institute has an overall seating capacity totaling to 90 seats in B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, and 30 seats each for other B. Tech programs.

M.Tech Programs: The institute currently runs M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering; Communication System Engineering; Embedded Systems and Design. The selection of candidates for M.Tech programs comprises Career Assessment (30 percent) and Writing Test (70 percent) by the institute. Each of the M.Tech programs accommodates between 16 and 32 seats.

MCA Program: However, admissions to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program are unique at SUIIT. Of the total intake, 50 percent of the seats are filled based on OJEE scores while the remaining 50 percent come from the institute's own entrance test. The institute-level test splits 30% for career assessment and 70% for written exams. The MCA program has an intake of 48 students.

M.Sc Programs: SUIIT provides M.Sc in Computer Science and Electronics. Similar to M.Tech, admission for these two M.Sc programs is based on 30% career assessment and 70% on a written test conducted by the institute. Each M.Sc program accepts 32 students.

Ph.D Programs: The institute has doctoral programs in the Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering disciplines.
