Sanjeevini Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital (SAMCH), Hubballi, Karnataka, has a tough and demanding but transparent admission process for prospective students desiring to become Ayurvedic practitioners. SAMCH is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and is duly recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). The main mission of the college is to provide quality education in Ayurveda while bridging with modern medical systems.
Admission to SAMCH will be primarily on the basis of the NEET UG entrance examination. The complete admission process is the purview of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The candidates seeking admission to SAMCH must satisfy the eligibility requirements laid by the university and also register themselves with KEA, to be eligible for admission.
Application Process
The application process for the admission procedure of Sanjeevini Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital consists of several steps:
1. Qualifying in NEET UG: First and foremost, candidates must register and qualify for NEET UG, which is normally held once a year.
2. Checking NEET UG results: As soon as the results are out (and the recent results were out on June 4th, 2024), candidates should check their scores and their rank.
3. Registering with KEA: All eligible candidates must register with KEA so that they can participate in the counseling procedure for admissions into SAMCH.
4. Submission of Documents: All the relevant documents should be prepared and submitted as per the guidelines provided for by KEA and SAMCH. This includes NEET scorecard, 10+2 mark sheets, domicile certificate (if applicable), and any other relevant certificates.
5. Counseling: Report to the KEA counseling for document verification and allotment of seats based on the NEET score against available seats.
6. Admission to the College: Upon document verification, candidates report to the college and complete all admission requirements, such as document verification, payment of fees, and medical examination.
7. Orientation and Classes: Upon confirmation of admission, the candidate shall report for the orientation program and classes as per the schedule declared by the college.
Degree-wise Admission Process
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): The BAMS course available at SAMCH is one of the best and most comprehensive six-and-a-half-years long programs with a one-year compulsory internship. The college accommodates 60 candidates for this program. Admission to the BAMS program is done solely on the basis of NEET UG examination, which structures the program to facilitate a strong basic knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine while blending in modern medical knowledge. This synergy equips graduates to deal with challenges in healthcare delivery as it stands today.
