Goreswar College, Baksa, and thus becomes one of the renowned colleges in Goreswar, Assam. Its degree courses integrate undergraduate programs in arts, commerce, and science streams. In essence, the admission process will ensure that deserving candidates are selected on the basis of their academic performance at Goreswar College. The admission process is usually undertaken by the college in the months following the declaration of the 10+2 results by different boards.  Considering the admission into Goreswar College, a candidate's academic performance at previous qualifying examinations is used as the main criterion for assessing merit for admissions on a merit basis whereby a candidate with a strong academic background is given a chance to pursue further study in the institution. BA (Bachelor of Arts)- Goreswar College offers several programs for BA Honors, namely Bodo, Assamese, Education, Political Science, Philosophy, English, Economics, and History. The process of admission for all BA programs is based on merit. Intake also differs from specialization to specialization. Some approved intakes include:

1. BA Bodo Hons: 80 seats
2. BA Assamese Hons, BA Education Hons, BA Political Science Hons, BA Philosophy Hons: 70 seats each
3. BA English Hons, BA Economics Hons, BA History Hons: 60 seats each

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science)- the college offers B.Sc Honors programs in Computer Science, Zoology, Mathematics, Botany, Physics, and Chemistry. Admission for all B.Sc programs is done by merit and this is the number of seats of these programs. Each of these programs has as much as 50 seats approved.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)- Goreswar College has B.Com Honors programs on Finance, Accountancy, Human Resource Management, and Marketing Management. The merit-based admission process will be applicable for all B.Com programs. Each of these specializations has an approved intake of 30 seats.
