Shams Teacher's Training College, situated in West Champaran, Bihar, is a teacher-training specialised institution, the college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and provides two major teacher-training programmes: B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. Applicants should have graduated or done post-graduation from a known university in order to apply for the B.Ed. course.
The D.El.Ed. course is also a two-year full-time programme aimed at preparing teachers for primary and upper primary levels of education. Like the B.Ed. course, admission to D.El.Ed. is on merit basis depending on marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college takes 100 students for this course. Admission to D.El.Ed. normally demands that the candidates have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
