The Shri Pushtikar Shri Purohit Surajraj Roopa Devi Smriti Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jodhpur, which is dedicated to providing quality education for female students. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate admissions on merit. The academic performance in the qualifying examination serves as the principal criteria for admission into the college. Normally, admission to the different courses runs concurrently with the academic calendar of Rajasthan Universities. Undergraduate candidates having completed their 10+2 from any recognized board are eligible for applying. Postgraduate contenders shall be eligible if they have completed their bachelor's degree in the relevant subject from any recognized university. The college may declare cut-off percentages for different courses that shall be decided depending upon the number of applications received and availability of seats.

Application Process

The admission procedure at Shri Pushtikar Shri Purohit Surajraj Roopa Devi Smriti Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jodhpur, has been made simple and has provisions for the eligibility of all female candidates. Below is a stepwise description of the application process.

1. Application form: The applicant can either collect the application form from the college admission office or download it from the official site of the college.

2. Application filling: Fill in all sections of the application form with utmost care. A mistake in personal and academic information may disqualify an applicant.

3. Required documents: Arrange to attach all necessary documents which in most cases include:

  • Passport size photographs
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th for UG courses, and Bachelor's degree for PG courses)
  • Transfer Certificate from the last attended institution
  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificates/documents specified by the college

4. Application submission: Complete the application form and said documents and submit them to the college admission office before the due date. Keep one copy of the application submitted for your own reference.

5. Application fee: Pay the application fee as prescribed by the college. Usually, this fee may be paid in cash at the college office or by any means mentioned by the institution. 

6. Merit list: The college will prepare a merit list on the basis of academic performance of the applicants. This is usually published on the notice board and website of the college.

7. Document verification: Applicants appearing in the merit list will be called for verification of documents. Carry originals for verification.

8. Admission Confirmation: After verification, candidates will then confirm admission through fees payment, within the stipulated period.

9. Orientation: Attend the orientation conducted by the university to get an overview of the university and its faculty and some insight into the academic processes.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Sc: The B. Sc. degree is offered based on the aggregate marks of the qualifying examination (10+2) in Science. The students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology at the Higher Secondary Level.

B.Com: The preference for admission into Bachelor of Commerce is for those who have completed 10+2 with Commerce subjects. Admission is based on the merit list prepared on the basis of qualifying examination marks.

BA: The admission process for the BA degree program will be on merit based on the marks obtained by candidates in the 10+2 examination. Many other subjects are being offered by the college at the BA level thereby allowing students to select ones of their interest as combination subjects.

BCA: BCA admission is purely through merit based on the 10+2 examination. Students may have been given a place with priority if they had applied mathematics in the 10+2 level.

MA (Geography, History, Hindi, Home Science, Sociology): For admission to the postgraduate arts programs, candidates should have a B.A. degree in the relevant discipline or in the allied area. Admission is, of course, based mostly on the marks in the qualifying degree.

M.Com: Admission to the Master of Commerce course requires the candidate to be a B.Com or its equivalent graduate. Admission shall depend on the candidate's performance at the undergraduate level.
