The Shyam Lal College has been ranked 43rd among colleges in the NIRF Ranking 2025.
One of the best infrastructure among the other du colleges A/C centralized library with amazing computer labs . Also having a very peaceful environment in the study and common room but the condition of the water coolers is not good not working properly and the water is also not drinkable
The faculties of the college are really helpful with so much experience. Always create a curiosity among the students so that they can learn more eagerly about the subjects. The optional subjects are also very interesting from which a student can develop his overall personality like Public speaking, leadership skills which really helps the students to build the confidence within themselves
Placement is a debatable topic because as we have seen in early years everything about the college is good but not the placements . Students were not getting their desire package which they actually deserve. Not so many renowned and big companies come for placement which lead for Students to search for job outside the college or further continuing their studies.
My college infrastructure is good but there is some places in college that are very bad and not well constructed or not clean like our washroom are rarely clean and water for drinking is not good the quality and taste of water is very bad but our building and the plants in our is college is very good.
The academics in our college is really good and the professor nature and there style of teaching us is really good and how they teach us is really good we understand them properly and they understand us that students want to study or not.
The placement in our college is good but not the best. The companies that came to our college is not giving the package that students deserve and the companies that come to our not the big companies they are mainly startups.
Campus Life or my college is very good like the students were really good and we made some of the best memories in our college and I have many friends in my college and they are very helpful. The best campus Life i can say.
college has a well-kept campus with sufficient classrooms, library, and laboratory facilities. sports area is good, while the computer laboratory facilities are appropriate for the technical students. Canteen provides good food with affordable rates
teachers are well qualified, and generally kind. as in every college, the quality of education would depend on the individual teachers. If the students are focused towards their studies so they are able to acquire good knowledge and skills here
placement here is mediocre. Companies do hire from the campus, but in the majority of students need to find for themselves. The placement cell does provide training and workshops to students so that they are ready to face interviews, but such high-paying jobs are not in plenty.
it is a part of Delhi University, the fee is quite reasonable. The students get a decent education at a reasonable price,
college is highly active in student life with many drama, music, and debate societies and clubs. The campus is good with events and fests, and students are provided with a chance to showcase their talent. environment is friendly, and students can opt for extracurricular activities along with studies
infrastructure of the college is weak. The classrooms are not properly maintained, and common facilities such as clean washrooms and drinking water are usually unavailable. The library lacks sufficient books, and there is no decent seating area.
The quality of teaching is normal nethier so good nor bad . Most professors are not helpful or experienced enough to mentor students properly which creates so much of confusion ,not properly focuses on practical learning
Placement opportunities are extremely disappointing. Reputed companies hardly ever come to the campus, and students have to find jobs on their own with difficulty.packages offered here are extremely low, and it's not easy to have a good starting point in a career.
the amount of fees paid is good nd affordable. The only one thing which is good here
I personally feel Campus life is boring here . There are hardly any extracurricular activities, and the campus life in general is boring. The college doesn't hold many events or fests, so there isn't much for students to do plus not even having much societies which makes little engaging campus Life
college has a good infrastructure with clean and well spacious classrooms, a library, and computer labs. The sports facilities are good, and the campus is clean. So it's quite decent in terms of infrastructure canteen also serves good food with proper hygiene
Teaching staff is well-organized with senior professors having Phd degrees supervising students. Certain teachers are extremely knowledgeable and cooperative. Syllabus follows Delhi University standards, and exposure to research work and practical work is provided in certain courses. Attendance rules and regular classes are also be followed
Placements in our college are mediocre. A few companies do visit the campus for recruitment, but the majority of students have to search for jobs independently. Internships and skill enhancement programs conducted by placement cell which somewhere helps students
it is a suitable choice for students seeking quality education at affordable prices. Based on the facilities and staff, it is a value for money.
Campus life is good with different societies, cultural programs, and sporting activities. The annual fest is a big draw. crowd is mixed and students have chances to engage in different extracurricular activities Which keeps campus Life amazing
Shyam lal College is an excellent institution with top-notch faculty, modern infrastructure, and a lush green campus. The professors are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to students' academic and professional growth. The well-equipped classrooms, libraries, and laboratories enhance the learning experience. The college also boasts extensive sports facilities and well-maintained hostels. One of its standout features is the serene and eco-friendly environment, with beautifully landscaped gardens and ample greenery, creating a peaceful atmosphere for learning. Overall, [College Name] provides an ideal blend of academic excellence, state-of-the-art facilities, and a refreshing natural ambiance, making it a perfect choice for everyone
"Shyam Lal College (SLC), DU, offers a strong academic environment with dedicated faculty members who are highly knowledgeable and supportive. The professors are well-qualified, approachable, and encourage students to engage in discussions and research. The curriculum is well-structured, aligning with Delhi University standards, and covers both theoretical and practical aspects effectively. Many faculty members actively guide students in projects, seminars, and career opportunities. While the infrastructure is improving, the academic experience remains solid, making it a great choice for students looking for quality education within DU."
"Placements at Shyam Lal College are moderate, with opportunities varying across different courses. The Placement Cell actively organizes recruitment drives, internships, and skill-enhancement workshops. While top-tier companies may not frequently visit, students do get placed in firms related to marketing, sales, finance, and education. Many students opt for higher studies or government exams after graduation. Internships and career guidance sessions help improve employability. Overall, placements are decent, but students may need to be proactive in securing good job opportunities."
"Shyam Lal College offers great value for money, especially as a part of Delhi University. The fees are quite affordable compared to private colleges, making it accessible to students from different backgrounds. The faculty is knowledgeable, and the academic curriculum is well-structured. While placements are average, the college provides good exposure through internships, workshops, and extracurricular activities. If you're looking for a budget-friendly college with a decent education and DU's recognition, SLC is a solid choice."
"Campus life at Shyam Lal College is vibrant and engaging, with various cultural, academic, and sports activities happening throughout the year. The college has an active student body with societies for drama, music, debate, and more. Fests and events add to the lively atmosphere, giving students opportunities to showcase their talents. The campus is well-maintained, and the library and sports facilities are decent. While the infrastructure is improving, the overall environment is friendly and inclusive, making college life enjoyable for students."
Space is good but classrooms are not well maintained according to DU level. Canteen is also not that maintained according to good level. Principal is trying to make all things work. Much more years required to get a AAA rating for this college.
Teachers are good. They teach everything with a concept. Although many teachers are good in their respective fields still something lacks in their teaching which generously impact studies. It also has a library.
Placement cell doesnt focus on good companies. Very few good on campus placement companies come here. RBS abd concentrix come to hire for call centre which underpay students. For internship options, IDBI insurance come and force students to sell their insurance to their home mates.
Fees is very reasonable.
Its good
The college infrastructure has basic amenities and is quite decent in terms of infrastructure. There are well maintained libraries ,labs and spaces are clean and hygienic.thus it is quite decent in terms of infrastructure.
I feel teachers are really friendly and helps you with academic real well. There are proper notes, and study materials circulated by our teachers. And there is regular classes and strict attendance makes us accountable for our part.
I am a first year student and I have honestly not much to say about placements. But I feel there should be little more efforts towards placements as I don't see it as an important factor in college. This this needs to improve.
Shyam Lal College is affilated with Delhi University. This College runs in 2 shits morning and evening. College infrastructure is good . This College has all basic facilities in the campus and also many socities are there in the College for conducting different different Event in the Campus.
This college always update curriculum as per DU Norms . Quality of teaching delivered to students are very amazing and knowlegable. Faculty clear our doubts and guide us in all manners. Curriculum of College help us to grow practically.
Shyam Lal College has connection with industry and companies. As they provide internship, placement opportunity to the students. College give a platform of inovative learning experience with in the campus.
The infrastructure of this college is above average. While the college has all the basic infrastructural necessities, it lacks certain things that are present in a college of it's stature. Lack of big ground to hold events in and a tiny auditorium/seminar hall are some examples of this.
This being DU, the academic curriculum is same as the rest of the colleges in Delhi University. The professors are capable and are quick to resolve the doubts of the students. However, assignments and internal tests are not taken on time and throughout the semester like other DU colleges but rather everything is given at the same time. Also, sometimes professors would cancel classws without any notice.
Since, I don't have enough experience with placements, I can't say much. However, from what I have seen, this college doesn't offer much for placements. Majority of the placements happen through outside.
It is a good college if we compare it with outside colleges but within the University of Delhi, it's certainly among the worst. It is value for money if we want a better than average college and the prestige of being a DU alumni, otherwise many other DU colleges offer much better options.
I'm rating it 2 stars because the location is one of the worst, if not the worst among all off campus colleges. Shahadara is a hotbed of crime and many of my fellow classmates have been affected with petty crime like theft and eve teasing while travelling to the college. As for students, the quality of students as improved a lot after CUET. Teachers are good but the office staff is very rude.
