Silchar college is one of the older colleges established in Silchar, so the camous is a bit old and classrooms are fine though not high level infrastructure are there. But basic facilities are there like canteen, a small ground, library etc. These are maintained.
I have completed economics honours from silchar college, my experience with the department is okay okay. Teachers explain concept well but there is lack of seriousness in completing syllabus. You have to do your own hoemwork.Still, faculty support is there if you put in effort.
There are no placements till date. and this is actually not relevant for the area where this college belonged as it is a small town no such great industries are available people mostly go outside the town to get a job.
the college infrastructure is very poor. The students are not getting adequate equipment or the modern technologies like wifi, smart boards, projectors, etc. still living in back years with following old study technique. the government or the administration should look into these colleges.
The college has only few courses and the teaching quality is just good to go. I would recommend students or parents to not go for this, instead try some best colleges as it is going to transform your rest of the life even though we know you have to work hard.
It is a very small college with very limited courses, no placements cell or something like that is operating in the college. I did not get any such thing in the whole degree. There are lots of things which needs improvement including this.
the silchar college does not have much good facilities, infrastructure, and equipment as it has included the degree level course just 8 years back. The classrooms have old designed benches and desks. there is no wifi, library, labs facilities. it does not have any hostels.
The college needs more qualified teachers to grow it further, The teachers are average at teaching. The curriculum was updated though. I do not think the course I did make me job-ready. I joined other courses and found better job opportunites.
We never heard of placements things from our teachers, I do not know about now as I passed out in 2019. But as fas as I know it still does not have placements. Other things to tell is that the teachers tell us to go for PG PhD degrees to get a better job.
