Teacher education has a long history in Assam. The Sipajhar B.Ed. College is a government-recognized B.Ed. college located at Darrang. The courses of study in the college are approved by NCTE following the rules and regulations of the State Government of Assam and the university it is affiliated to.

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education)

• Duration: 2 Years

• Intake: 100 students

• Admission is done on merit basis with respect to marks obtained in the qualifying exam and/or entrance exam.

• Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education)

• Admission is purely on the basis of merit subject to state government or UT administration rules.

• Eligibility: As prescribed by concerned authorities.

• Selection is made on the basis of the performance in the qualifying and/or entrance examination.

B.A. Education
An additional option for the institution is that of offering a B.A. in Education.
