This college was established in 1960 in Ernakulam and is known as SNM Training College, which is highly dedicated to changing the future of education. Known as affiliated college, it is located at Moothakunnam, North Paravur and widespread in a 4.44 acres of land area. Recognised by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), SNM Training College provide good education in teacher training courses. Whereby the student enrolment is a total of 109 and faculties number 12, the college ensures quality learning is well offered. It has two teaching specialisation degree programmes that focus on education for students at the undergraduate and post graduate categories.

SNM Training College has a wealth of learning resource facilities to compliment the college students in their learning process. It is a library which proudly serves as an academic resource centre and situated at 339 square meter plus a reading room of 100 square meters. It comes with more than 21262 books out of them 1500 reference books and 1800 textbooks; and it subscribes to twenty journals in different languages. Exercise lovers can be engaged in volleyball, shuttle badminton, chess and table tennis besides many other indoor games. One modern aspect apparent in the college is ICT Ministerial with a well equipped computer laboratory with internet service throughout 24hrs with facilities for video lessons. Girls and boys both are the accepted in the university, they can find comfortable hostel facilities which have the capacity to accommodate nearly 100 students each. The campus also compromises of well equipped science laboratories, multi-gym, seminar and event auditorium, computerised smart classrooms with modern teaching facilities.

SNM Training College offers two full-time courses: A Self-Finance Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) and Masters of Education (M.Ed) programme of study. The admission capacity of the B.Ed programme that has been approved is one hundred while the M.Ed Self-Finance programme offers fifty seats. Each of the programmes is planned to be pursued for two years and offers preparation for future educators. These specialised programmes are firmly rooted in the college, hence addressing concern of divergent aims and commitment towards teacher professional training and education for successful career in the field.

Admission to SNM Training College for the course is based on merit on marks scored in a qualifying examination or an entrance exam as the case may be. For the B.Ed programme admissions are offered under the policy of state government, UT Administration and the university. It is equally important for the M.Ed Self-Finance programme where procedure also remains same as per the state government, government, university and UT Administration norms.
