SR Kanthi College of Education is an ICSE-recognised teacher training institute founded in 1986 in the Ilkal district of Karnataka. This is a co-educational college and has received recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which provides quality education to teachers. Teacher education is the prime area of operation of SR Kanthi College of Education, which offers a single full-time course, namely the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This includes a two-year degree programme that has an approved capacity of 100 students for those who want to work in the field of education. The B.Ed. is offered to prepare students with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective practice in school as teachers. Even though the college now has only one degree programme, it is a long and intensive study of this particular branch.
