Steel City College of Education, Burdwan, is one of the premier co-educational institutions in Durgapur, West Bengal, which is committed to shaping future educators. The admissions for the college are all merit based through marks obtained in either the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admission policies of the college are prescribed by the state government and the University of Burdwan.

Different programs of study have different eligibility criteria for admission. All candidates interested in pursuing the B.Ed course will have completed their bachelor's degree at the time of application or equivalent from an accepted university. Aspirants for the D.El.Ed would resume higher secondary (10+2) education as their last qualification.

Application Process

Generally, the following steps comprise the application process at Steel City College of Education, Burdwan:

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education):
The B.Ed program of Steel City College of Education allows an approved intake of 100 seats. Admission to the B.Ed program is based on merit, calculated using the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection process is based on policies determined by the state government and the University of Burdwan. To be qualified for the B.Ed program, candidates will have to completed a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education):
The D.El.Ed program will have 100 sanctioned seats. Similar to the B.Ed course, the admission procedure for this program also involves merit-based selection. Admission is given on the basis of one's performance in the qualifying examination (10+2) and/or entrance examination. The selection process will follow guidelines laid down by the state government and other authorities of the education system concerned.
