Swami Vivekanand Mahavidhyalaya (SVKM) is a Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, based organisation established in 2008 to deliver quality education to its consumers. Located in Satai Road, it’s a co-educational college that work under affiliated college status highlighting the importance of quality education under patronage of the main college. The college has deservedly gained the accreditation of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which proves the college’s commitment to the improvement of standards for the preparation of teachers.

This campus of Swami Vivekanand Mahavidhyalaya provides basic amenities that the students could utilise in improving their studies. The college also has a functional library filled with books and other learning materials to aid learning by interested students. The B.Ed programme is the most important course offered in the institution underlining the institutions’ goal of preparing qualified and competent teachers.

Swami Vivekanand Mahavidhyalaya (SVKM), a co-educational institution at Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. Since its inception, the college has been committed to providing quality education and has procured accreditation by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), illustrating its interest towards maintaining high teaching education standards.

SVKM's admission policy is directed towards selecting worthy candidates for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course, which is currently SVKM's flagship course. The college operates a merit-based admission policy considering the marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examination and/or entrance test. Through this policy, the most worthy and academically meritorious students are able to be given an opportunity to pursue their B.Ed degree in SVKM.

Application Process

The procedure of admission to B.Ed course of Swami Vivekanand Mahavidhyalaya, Chhatarpur, is normally as under:

1. Notice: The college provides a notice of commencement of the admission process in different media and on its website.

2. Application Form: The applicants are required to buy and fill up the official application form. It is available online from the college website or directly from the college campus.

3. Document Submission: The filled-up application form accompanied by documents, if any, has to be submitted by the applicants.

  • Valid proof of ID
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Category certificate (if required)
  • Score card of entrance exam (if required)

4. Application Fee: The candidate may be required to pay an application fee. The payment mode and amount will be mentioned in the admission notice.

5. Entrance Test: Wherever required by the state government or university with which it is affiliated, the candidates will probably sit for an entrance test.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed course in Swami Vivekanand Mahavidhyalaya is a two-year full-time course with a sanctioned strength of 100 students. This large capacity is an indication of the institution's willingness to produce a large number of well-trained teachers. 

The admission procedure for the B.Ed course is as below:

1. Eligibility: Students must have completed their graduation or post-graduation from a recognized university.
2. Eligibility Norms: Merit on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination and/or qualifying examination.
3. Entrance Test: Scores of entrance test of relevant entrance exams according to affiliated university or state government policy will be taken into account by the college.
4. Merit List: Merit list is drawn as per candidate's performance in the entrance test and/or qualifying examination.
5. Counselling: The shortlisted candidates may be called for counselling session, wherein they may choose their seats according to their merit rank.

It may be noted, however, that SVKM currently offers only the B.Ed course, focusing its resource and manpower on teacher training education.
