Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology, Narsapur Admission Process

The Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) is an autonomous institution, located at Narsapur in Andhra Pradesh. It has laid out well-defined admission procedures in consonance with the requirements and rules of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Several undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering and technology disciplines have been offered by Swarnandhra to cater to the academic interests of many. Most likely, admissions begin around the month of May to June for August to September academic sessions. B.Tech admissions would be based mainly on the AP EAMCET scores while M.Tech and other postgraduate programs are based on AP PGECET and GATE scores.

Out of every hundred admitted to engineering colleges, 70 of those candidates get admission through EAMCET counseling, while the remaining 30 would get admission under the management quota. For most, minimum qualifications needed for undergraduate courses entail passing of 10 + 2 under a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects; for M.Tech admission, a candidate must complete a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline from some recognized university.

Application Process

Application procedure differs with course for Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology: For B.tech programs:

Qualify AP EAMCET examination.

  1. Register for AP EAMCET counseling as per cut-off eligibility.
  2. Select SCET by Preferred courses during counseling.
  3. If allotted, report to SCET for document verification and payment of fees.

For M.Tech programs:

  1. Qualify the AP PGECET or GATE examination. 
  2. Apply through the centralized admission process conducted by the AP State Council of Higher Education.
  3. If shortlisted, be part of the counseling process.
  4. If a seat is allotted, complete the admission formalities at SCET.

For MBA and MCA programs:

  1. Qualify the AP ICET examination.
  2. Participate in the centralized counseling process.
  3. If seat allotment is done in favor of SCET, then admit to the institution.

For Diploma program:

  1. Mark AP POLYCET.
  2. Join the counseling process as arranged by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh. 
  3. If a seat is allotted at SCET, report to the college in completing the admission bar formalities.

Documents that are likely required for admission include but are not limited to: 

  • Rank card of AP EAMCET/AP PGECET/AP ICET/AP POLYCET
  • Mark sheets and certificates for 10th and 12th class 
  • Transfer certificate 
  • Degree and marks certificates (for postgraduate programs)
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport size photographs

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: SCET has a total of 13 B.Tech programs, with an intake of more than 1000 seats, and admission via AP EAMCET scores. The candidates must have passed 10+2 with the subjects Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry to be eligible. The Institute also provides lateral entry admissions into the second year of B.Tech programs, based on the AP ECET ranks.

M.Tech: The college offers admission in 7 specializations of M.Tech. The admissions are mainly based on AP PGECET scores and will also take into account GATE scores. The candidate must acquire a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in the relevant field. Admission will be done through counseling conducted by the AP State Council of Higher Education.

MBA: The MBA program will be run by SCET enrolling 120 students in it. The basis of admissions is along the lines of the score obtained in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test, though other processes such as group discussions and personal interviews could also be brought in as a process of selection.

MCA: The college presents the MCA course with 240 seats. Apart from that, admission has been through the process of AP ICET, similar to the MBA program. A bachelor's degree holder in any discipline, with Mathematics either at 10+2 or graduation, is eligible.

Diploma: A number of engineering disciplines offer diploma programs on SCET. Admission into any of these programs is on the basis of the rank secured in AP POLYCET. Eligibility checks include passing class 10 or an equivalent examination.

Considering the cut off you have decent chances to get seat in CSE in SWARNANDHRA INST. OF ENGG AND TECHNOLOGY. But the prediction is based on the cut off in 2020.
