Thakur PG College of Education, Kangra Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Thakur PG College of Education, Kangra, is an affiliated college situated in Dhaliara, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. NCTE-approved, the college provides quality education in teacher training. The admission process at Thakur PG College of Education is such that it chooses apt candidates for its education courses.

The college has a merit-cum-entrance test-based admission system. In the B.Ed course, first preference is given to those candidates who have cleared the entrance test organized by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Second preference is given to those candidates who have cleared any other entrance test recognized by the university. Admissions in the M.Ed course are also on the basis of an entrance test.

Application Process

The procedure for applying to Thakur PG College of Education, Kangra, is as follows:

1. Notification: The college puts out the notice of starting the admission process on its website and other media.

2. Application Form: The candidates have to procure and fill in the application form. This can be downloaded from the college website or can be obtained from the college admission office.

3. Submission of Documents: With the filled-in application form, candidates are required to submit all the documents required, such as:

• Mark sheets of the qualifying examination (10th, 12th, and graduation for B.Ed; B.Ed degree certificate for M.Ed)
• Score card of entrance exam (wherever applicable)
• Character certificate
• Migration certificate (wherever applicable)
• Category certificate (in case of any reserved category)
• Any other documents as mentioned by the college

4. Entrance Examination: Candidates may be required to take the entrance test conducted by Himachal Pradesh University or any other accepted entrance test, as notified by the college.

5. Merit List: The college prepares a merit list of deserving candidates based on the results of the entrance exam and/or academic merit.

6. Counselling and Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted for counselling and document verification are invited for counselling and document verification. In this process, candidates have to produce all original documents for verification.

7. Fee Payment: Candidates are asked to pay the fee as prescribed on successful verification and allotment of seat to secure their admission.

8. Orientation: Students admitted are required to report to the orientation program to get familiar with the college, its facilities, and the academic program.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed Self-Finance: The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course of Thakur PG College of Education is approved with an intake of 200 seats. Admission to this course is according to the merit of the qualifying examination and/or performance in the entrance exam. The policy adopted for the selection process is according to the policy of the state government, UT administration, and the university. The B.Ed course fee is Rs 98,000 in total.

M.Ed Self-Finance: 25 seats are available for the Master of Education (M.Ed) programme. The admission process for M.Ed is the same as B.Ed, with due consideration to the merit of the qualifying examination, performance in the entrance examination, or any other selection process in accordance with the policy of the state government, university, or UT administration. The cost of the entire M.Ed program is Rs 90,000.
