Hi Aspirant,

MAMC is a traditionally preferable college for MBBS over VMMC.

But, the preference for VMMC is nowadays exponentially increasing. Last year it was the second most preferred college after MAMC during AIPMT counseling.

Other reasons are -

1. The campus is fully air-conditioned, our infrastructure is very modern compared to other Government colleges.

2. Since the college has All India students through both AIPMT and IP; the cultural diversity is more significant.

3. The workload at VMMC during the first 2 years is one of the lightest among Delhi Medical Colleges. It has semester-end exams only, without compromising on the quality of education.

4. Lesser Batch Strength

5. Air Conditioned Hostels and No Curfew even for girls

6. Entirely separate Sports Injury Centre, made during the CWG.

7. Location and Ambience is enticing.

Hope this will help you to make a difference between the two colleges.

All the best.

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the best medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The name of RML is taken just after Vardhhaman Mahavir Medical College. RML can be compared with VMMC in terms. Also you can have the good and single patient exposure and in academic level, which is far better than VMMC having constant patient load. RML provides all kinds of facilities to its students and the hospital being one of the best, have good patient flow throughout the day. So you'll get enough exposure. VMMC is not the single best college for Nursing. RML is nothing less than VMMC. You can surely join RML for BSc nursing. Dropping a year won't be so easy. And there are also chances that you may not get top college again. But it's upto you. You should think before and after. Then take a decision.

Hello Aspirant,

The EWS seats differ from college to college and state to state. For example a particular college in Telangana has 100 seats for EWS then some another college would have only 50 EWS seats.

Also, last year ,the Government of India increased the EWS seats in each of the states in medical colleges. For example, in Andhra Pradesh alone, 360 new EWS seats were added. Like wise for Madhya Pradesh ( 270) , Maharashtra( 920), Kerala ( 155), Telangana( 190) and so on.

So, usually colleges put the EWS seats for candidates during councelling process rounds. But , after that they mostly delete them. So, it's difficult to get the list on the college's official website. But, you can check there if it's available.

Each college has a different no. of EWS seats for candidates.

Hope that helps. Good luck

Hello Shailendra !

Hello aspirant,

If you have secured 243rd rank in IPU CET B.SC Nursing and you're wondering whether you pursue your career in RML or give a try so as to get in VMMC next year, then it is suggested to go for RML rather than trying to get in VMMC in next year. RML is better than VMMC in terms of learning and case studies. Also you can have the good and single patient exposure and in academic level, which is far better than VMMC having constant patient load. RML facilities are just amazing and you can learn a lot of things but in VMMC, you can learn but while practical, all you have to do by yourself and at your own risk which in turn will be risky for you to learn too.

Hope, it helps you.

Hello Piyush
Yes DU colleges too have PG quota of their own for DU colleges. But VMMC (IPU) has substantial PG quota which is 50% of total PG seats under IPU University.
Choosing one college between MAMC and VMMC is your own decision.
As per NIRF ranking( government institution for tanking of colleges) VMMC surpassed MAMC this year itself.
Hope it helps

Hey,

The closing rank for NEET 2019 FOR VMMC and Safdarjang College was around 327. As per the cut off seen this year I guess marks above 660 may fetch you rank under 500 and there might be a chance then for you to get a seat in this college.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Are you sure it is your All India Rank and not your Category Rank. Because this year an All India Rank of 125719 secured 456 marks. So with a score 452, you cannot have an All India Rank of 54249. Having said that, in 2019, under State Quota, 476 marks secured a seat in Lady Hardinge Medical College under SC Category. That was the cut off. With 452 marks, it is tad difficult for a seat in the Colleges you have mentioned. Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.
