Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute, Udaipur, is one of the premier institutions providing higher education in Rajasthan. Specialized processes are adopted by the institute for admission to its postgraduate programs MA in various subjects and M.Sc programs.  Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute also provides doctoral programs (Ph.D.) in Sociology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Political Science. Admission into these research programs is conducted by a university entrance test and through a personal interview with the respective departments.

Application Process

The application process for Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute, Udaipur, changes as per the individual program:

1. Undergraduate Programs (BA, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Sc):

• The application form can be collected offline from the admission office at the institute or downloaded online from the official website.
• Fill up the application form with all the personal and academic information.
• Attach all the necessary documents including:
• Class 10, 12 mark sheets
• Character certificate
• Transfer certificate
• Passport size photographs
• Submit the filled application form, accompanied by the mandatory documents, to the admission office before the closure date.
• The application fee should be submitted as per the institute's requirement

2. For Postgraduate Programs (MA, M.Sc):

• Form obtained from or downloaded from the institute's website.
• Fill out the application form with proper details.
• Attach the following documents:
• Graduation mark sheets
• Provisional degree certificate
• Character certificate
• Migration certificate (if applicable)
• Passport size photographs
• Submit the completed application form with all documents attached to the admission office. 
• Pay the established application fee.

3. For the Ph.D. Program:

• The university or the website opens access for the Ph.D. application form.
• Fill out the form with personal, academic, and research-related information.
• Prepare a research proposal as per the institute's guidelines. 
• Attach necessary documents, including:
• Postgraduate degree certificates and mark sheet
• NET/JRF score card (if applicable)
• Research proposal
• Letters of recommendation (if required)
• Submit the completed application to the concerned department.
• Pay the application fee for the Ph.D. program.

Post submission, the eligible candidates may or may not have to appear for entrance tests and/or interviews (depending on the program). The final selection is based on the performance of the applicant in the said assessments along with their previous academic history.

Degree-wise Admission Process

BA: This program under Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute has the highest intake of 250 seats. Admissions are given on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) according to the guidelines of the state government.

B.Com: The Bachelor of Commerce program has a total of 80 seats and accepts students based on results of their 10+2 as per state government norms.

BCA and BBA: Each of these degree programs admits a maximum of 60 students and has an admission process similar to that of other undergraduate courses. It adopts as eligibility the 12th grade results to access admission.

B.Sc Programs: The various B.Sc programs include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (80 seats), Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry (80 seats), and Physics, Computer, and Mathematics (60 seats). Admissions are based on 10 + 2 results in the science stream.

MA Programs: Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute allows admission to MA in English Literature, Economics, Political Science, Rural Sociology, and Hindi Literature. The intake under each is 40 students. Admission is usually based on the merit of the student during undergraduate studies.

M.Sc Programs: The institute admits students into M.Sc courses which it offers in Mathematics, Organic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry with each accommodating a maximum of 20 students. Admissions into the program were based on the student's bachelor's results in the particular subject.

Ph.D. Programs: Admission to these doctoral programs in Sociology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Political Science is conducted through a university entrance exam followed by a personal interview organized by the concerned departments.
