VMCPuserdata: Vinayaka Mission’s College of Pharmacy established in year 1982 is a self financing institution located at Salem Tamil Nadu. PCI approved constituent college provides comprehensive curricula in pharmaceutical sciences for graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs. The VMCP is a small institute, nestled in a 1.23 acre of land which has a total student enrollment capacity of 812 and 65 faculty members educators. The college teaches 12 courses in 5 degree programs in different disciplines of pharmaceuticals. With a diverse student body of 437, including 93% undergraduates and 7% postgraduates, VMCP maintains a co-educational environment with a male-to-female ratio of 4:1.
VMCP offer various facility that are important for the improvement of the learning environment of its students. The college boasts of modern laboratories capable of supporting practical exercises and research work. A comprehensive library, open from 8:With a library open round the year from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm the college proudly possesses over 5568 books and journals and subscribes to different national and international journals. Current facilities include connectivity for internet access, computer laboratories with internet connection, and sporting facilities for basketball, volleyball and shuttle.
In the area of students’ living, there are two hostels; for boys and for girls each with a carrying capacity of two hundred students. The hostels have well aerated rooms and common areas as well as quality healthy meals prepared by the nutritionists. Besides, the transport facilities are also arranged by the VMCP along with canteen and 300-seater auditorium for seminars and other programs.
It provides various pharmaceutical programs to different education levels in the college. Currently, VMCP offers programs leading to the award of 12 courses at the Undergraduate, post graduate, Masters and Doctorate levels. Undergraduate program B.Pharma has an intake capacity of 100 student, other courses offered are D.Pharma, M.Pharma with different specialization, Pharm.D and Ph.D. in Pharmacy. All programmes are full time and the length of the courses’ vary from two to six years. In the recent academic year VUM had students 437 from all programs, of which 407 registered in the undergraduate courses and 30 in postgraduate programs.
