Admissions to the Westford Institute of Film Technology (WIFT), Kochi, Kerala, is an institution that specialises in film technology, animation, and visual effects study programmes. Diploma in Animation and VFX is a full-time three-year programme with an intake of 28 students. It teaches extremely comprehensive knowledge in the field of graphics, animation, and VFX work. Admission to pursue this programme is based on the performance of the student at the 10+2 or equivalent examination. The course is designed to provide both creative and technical competencies required for the animation and VFX industry.
Diploma in Sound Designing and Audio Post Production is a one-year diploma programme is conducted with an intake of 6 seats only. It provides specialised training on sound design and audio post-production for films. Thus, admission likely would hinge upon the student's academic and any other relevant experience or aptitude as regards audio technology.
Diploma in Film Editing and DI is a one-year diploma programme with an intake of 20 seats, with specialisation in film editing and digital intermediate processes. It considers aspects of the academic qualifications of the candidate, and also the possible assessment of interest and basic understanding of film editing.
Diploma in Digital Film Technology programme lasts for one year, has 18 seats, and encompasses various areas in digital filmmaking. Admission is normally based upon the candidate's academic background and may involve also evaluation of the zeal with which he pursues filmmaking and technical aptitude.
