i got a seat in kcet counsilling but wished to quit it and take a drop but i could choose quit ,the choice entry ended. so i would like to know wheather the seat will get cancelled automattically and wheather it will affect next year seat counselling

Nikita shahi 12th Aug, 2025

Hello,

If you got a seat in KCET counselling but have decided not to join and instead take a drop, then after the choice entry ends, the seat is usually automatically considered as not joined if you don’t report or pay the fees. It will be returned to the pool for the next rounds or cancelled. For the next year’s counselling, there is generally no penalty or restriction just because you didn’t join the allotted seat this year—KCET allows you to appear fresh each year if you meet eligibility. However, you must make sure that you don’t officially accept the seat and then fail to attend classes, because in some cases colleges may ask for a small seat cancellation fee if admission was confirmed. If your aim is to prepare better and get a better rank next year, you’re safe to do so.

All the best for your preparation! Thank you.

Is it true that the KCET rank cutoff displayed by the colleges are not true and that it varies in extended round because I got 26,315 rank and I want GIT BELGAUM ENC Branch but professors are assuming that I might not get and my friends are telling that I will get it easily. So whom should I trust??

Nikita shahi 11th Aug, 2025

Hello, yes, the KCET cutoff ranks can indeed change in the extended round. The first cutoff lists are based on seats filled during the main rounds, but in the extended round, many students withdraw, upgrade to other branches, or choose colleges in different states. This creates vacant seats, allowing candidates with ranks lower than the initial cutoff to get admission. However, the extent of this change varies each year depending on demand. With your rank of 26,315 and aiming for GIT Belgaum ENC branch, it’s possible you might get a seat if enough students drop out. Professors are cautious because they’ve seen years when seats didn’t fall that much, while friends might be optimistic based on past cases.

I got 26,315 kcet ranking in GM category .. is Kle Technology of Engineering Belgaum good or GIT Belgaum ??..and which college you think I might get?

Nikita shahi 6th Aug, 2025

Both KLE Technological University and GIT Belgaum are reputed engineering colleges in North Karnataka.

  • KLE Technological University, Hubli: Known for better infrastructure, innovation labs, and startup ecosystem. Industry tie-ups are increasing, and it's slowly gaining national recognition.
  • GIT Belgaum: Has strong alumni network and consistent placement support, especially in traditional engineering branches like Mechanical, Civil, and CS.

With 26,315 KCET rank in GM, you may have a better chance at GIT Belgaum, but KLE (lower branches like Civil/Mech) may also be possible in later rounds.

Keep checking the official KEA website and be flexible with your choice of branch.

All the best,

Thank you.

Nikita shahi 6th Aug, 2025

For Gopalganj School Class 6 admissions 2025–26, the available seats in the fourth round (Homeostat quota) depend on how many seats remained unfilled after the 3rd round. You can check the school notice board or website , contact the District Education Office or BEO (Block Education Officer) or check the Samagra Shiksha portal (if applicable in your state).

Seats for Homeostat quota are limited and filled quickly, so stay updated and respond fast.

Best wishes for your child’s admission!

Thank you.

I havent been allotted any college in the first round of kcet counselling so I have joined other college and i want to quit in the first round so what should i do

gopi 5th Aug, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

In case you have not been assigned a seat in the first round of KCET counselling and have joined another college but are now thinking of leaving that college, you should still be able to participate in the next round of KCET. You will not have to do anything to withdraw from KCET counselling, and can also wait for the next round(whenever that is). However, to leave the college you have joined, however, you will need to follow that college's withdrawal procedure (which will generally be that you have to submit a formal application, and pay a fee, if any). Make sure you go through that college's refund policy before you withdraw.

Yash Teotia 5th Aug, 2025

Hello

With a KCET rank of 19567 and family income of 40,000 you can definitely get REVA university under SNQ Quota.

For REVA University, SNQ quota ranks have generally closed from 12,00 to 40,000 depending upon the branch. With your rank, you have a  chance of getting a good branch (Except CS and IT).

In last years KCET 2nd extended round seat matrix almost evry course and college showed zero GM seats so should a GM student consider participating in 2nd extended round ? since seat matrix shows zero seats for GM

gopi 4th Aug, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, a General Merit (GM) student should think about attending the 2nd extended round of KCET counselling. Although the seat matrix may reflect "No GM seats" initially, there may still be openings due to withdrawals, non-reporting by allotted candidates, or upgrades from earlier rounds. All vacated seats were renewed, not currently being used by candidates, and some of these openings can be again filled under GM category. Many students have gained good seats in this round by attending 2nd extended counselling, although the first matrix indicated "zero".

i am from karnataka and i completed my school studies in karnataka, after tenth standard i joined in Andrapradesh for intermediate. can i eligible for kcet exam

OISHEE BANERJEE 2nd Aug, 2025

Yes, you can be eligible for the KCET exam even if you studied your 11th and 12th (Intermediate) in Andhra Pradesh, provided you meet certain domicile/residency criteria of Karnataka.

Since you completed your schooling up to 10th standard in Karnataka and are a Karnataka domicile, you may be eligible under Clause (a) or (b) of KCET eligibility. These clauses usually include:

  • You must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years including 10th.

  • Or one of your parents must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.

  • Or your mother/father must be a Karnataka state government employee.

You will likely need to submit a domicile certificate or study certificate from Karnataka to support your claim.
