1-Number of candidates appearing in that examination.

2-Number of vacant seats in college.

3-Previous years cut offs.

4-Difficulty level of the paper.

Both vitmee vellore and chennai fetch good rankers for mtech , admission in mtech is taken mainly on approval of gate score but here they don't agree with gate they have their own exam

In General candidates with 118+ marks will fall under 1-250 ranks .and rank with 5000 draw a chance for good branch.both have good placement and the pattern in mtech will be either RBL,pBL do some research while admission accordingly and take charge .

For your VITMEE Rank you have chances of getting VLSI in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore in Category 2 based on previous year's cut-offs. To get seat in VLSI in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore you have to get VITMEE Rank below 300.

For your Rank you can try in Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai in Category 1. But cut-offs varies from year to year and may depend on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, category etc. As there are limited seats for Master programs the competition is high and also the cut-off.

Hope you are doing well.According to previous years VITMEE cutoff you can get admission in VLSI in VIT Vellore if you have rank 300-400.And as per your rank you have chances of getting admission in Category 2.But,I would recommend you to take admission in VIT Chennai instead because in Chennai campus you can get VLSI in category 1.Both Vellore and Chennai campuses are almost same in case of placements,infrastructure,fees,etc.So,you should take admission in VIT Chennai.
