With a KEAM rank of 43,930, getting a CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) seat in top government colleges in Kerala is very difficult, especially in general category. But you still have good chances in:
1. Private self-financing colleges in Kerala You can get CSE or related branches like CSE-AI, IT, or ECE in private colleges during later rounds or spot admission.
2. Management quota or NRI quota These seats are easier to get but usually have higher fees.
3. Lower-demand branches or newer colleges If you're open to joining newer colleges or slightly less popular ones, you may still get a CSE seat.
4. Consider related branches If CSE is not available, you can try IT, ECE, or CSE specializations like Cybersecurity or AI, which may have slightly lower closing ranks.
What to do next: Wait for all rounds of KEAM counselling and also check individual college cutoffs during each round.

As computer science is one of the most sought-after courses, the rank list is quite high. Therefore, the best colleges limit their ranking to under 10,000. However, IHRD colleges are a perfect option, offering both moderate fees and a good educational setup. Private colleges are a good option if you can get a management seat. Some good options for CSE are the College of Engineering, Kottarakkara; Saint Gits College
Depending on the type of engineering, it can go from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, to the Model College of Engineering. In case of CSE colleges like the model, CEC is a good option. Colleges like CET, TKM, and GEC Thrissur can be opted for Electronics, Electrical, and other trades.
Hello Asprirant,
No, it is not an issue if you fail to get a college in the first allotment process of KEAM. You still have chances in the next allotment processes and make sure you correctly filled in your options and keep in touch with the official KEAM dates for the next allotment process.

If your KEAM general rank is 2234 and you belong to the Muslim category, you have a chance to get admission in good government colleges.
In 2024, the last rank for Muslim category at CET Trivandrum was around 786 for Computer Science, 1082 for Electronics and Communication, and 2197 for Mechanical Engineering. Your rank is just above the Mechanical cut-off. So, you may get Mechanical Engineering at CET if the cut-off goes slightly higher this year.
For branches like CSE or ECE in CET, your rank is not within the previous cut-off. But you may still get good branches in other government or private engineering colleges under the Muslim quota.
You can check cut-offs and apply for counselling here: https://cee.kerala.gov.in
Yes, you have a very good chance of getting into MEC, as last year's cutoffs were as low as 5172 for CSBC, and for ECE, the chances are tough, as the previous year's lowest rank was 4718, but in case of management quota, the leniency may be there so also keep them on your list.
With a KEAM rank of 22,270, you can get admission in B.Pharm in many self-financing and private colleges in Kerala. It may be hard to get into top government colleges because they usually need lower ranks. But private and aided colleges may accept students with your rank.
Some colleges where you may get a seat include Nehru College of Pharmacy, Nirmala College of Pharmacy, National College of Pharmacy, and Crescent College of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
You should take part in the counselling conducted by CEE Kerala and choose B.Pharm as your course in the option entry.
